Watched 'HOARD' (Amazon Prime).  A touching contemporary British film about a young girl and her manic-schizoid mother who live in a broken-down home overflowing with mounds  of clutter & trash. Mom dies when a junk pile shifts and she's crushed (?). The daughter goes into foster care and the action jumps ahead to her late teens and she's bonding with extremely odd types. Her character acts like a damaged girl who would benefit from acting lessons because she's always 'acting out'. The film is like nothing else and it's an ambitious & strange blend of fantasy and kitchen sink realism. "75" Metascore and I would go to "85". 

Finished 'THE BELIEVERS' (Netflix). I didn't realize that season #2 is already available. A clever premise: A powerful business concern makes them drop the local temple scam and expand the operation to run the grift at a large provincial temple. I will make a note to get back to this. I guess all religions sell peace of mind and what they are doing is no different. And you can also make a strong case that they are actually promoting Buddhism in that the world is an illusion and..."Don't believe everything you see".  

Began 'LAND OF SIN' (Netflix). It's bleak, Scandi-Noir with a grizzled & depressed female cop calling the shots. The series is set in the rural countryside of Skane, Sweden and the Bjare Peninsula in far southern Sweden. I shut it down 154 minutes into the first episode and I'll be back tonight.

Reading 'THE BRASS VERDICT'.

The guy next door has had a big white straight truck in front of his house for a couple of weeks. While I was reading around 430pm I noticed that he started it up, drove it around the block, and re-parked it out front. This leads me to believe that it will be here for a while. I wonder what on earth was his reasoning for buying a used straight truck?  And, the house on the other side is still vacant. What's the reasoning there? He could sell it outright without doing any remodeling and get $140,000 to $180,000 and put that money in a CD and make at least 5% interest and he wouldn't be paying taxes or losing money to depreciation. 

540pm: In the tub with 'THE BRASS VERDICT' and listening to JEFFERSON AIRPLANE- 'After Bathing At Baxters'/ 'Volunteers'. 

Watched some YouTube videos about cannabis for seniors. I wonder if my dry vape can use 'dosing capsules'.

9pm: Weights: 3 sets/ 15 reps (barbell light)

Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
