Watched 'BELEN' (Amazon Prime). A poor woman enters a slum hospital with abdominal pain. The authorities claim she was pregnant and that she 'self aborted'. She got seven years and served two years before the verdict was overturned.  The fetus didn't even belong to the woman and she was probably suffering from peritonitis. A stodgy film, but a remarkable topic. The incident occurred in San Miguel de Tucuman, Argentina which is in the northwestern part of the country near the border with Chile, Bolivia, and Paraguay.

Watched 'A TIME FOR BRAVERY' (Netflix). It's an oddly ridiculous 'Buddy Film' about a detective and a psychologist. The cop is just back from a medical leave due to severe depression after his wife left him. The shrink was assigned to be his partner to help him with his mental health issues. It's a remake of an Argentinian film and this one is set in Mexico City, Mexico. Horror films can go multinational, but comedies....not so much.  

1245pm: The PC is 'Off' and will do 5 miles on the treadmill because I'm constipated. 

110pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; began DAVE SMITH on THEO VON;  began a 'GETTING DOUG WITH HIGH'- an on-stage group with vape bags.

Watched a few YouTube videos about senior cannabis use {Margaret & Eddie}. None of the reasons for using cannabis included just wanting to get baked. Why does there need to be a life affirming activity that's chock full of positive benefits? Isn't doing it because it makes you feel loopy enough of a justification?  

More 'LAND OF SIN' (Netflix). I shut it down 14 minutes into episode #4. There's only an hour left in the series and I should finish tomorrow morning.

Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80".
