The 'double' laxative woke me around 3am. I am now unblocked.

Began 'Dhurandhar' (Netflix- it's 'Bollywood' and over three and a half hours long). I shut it down with about an hour and five left to go and I'll finish it tonight. This is aimed at a specific audience and most western viewers don't understand exactly how their crime families, political parties, police, and rebels work together (and against each other). The Indian system seems so lurid and designed to punish rather than reform. Every time you go to jail, the cops will beat you. They don't even pretend to care about prisoners' rights or presumption of innocence. Do contemporary Indians feel that this is justice or do they admit that it's pretty unfair?

Watched 'THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL' (Amazon Prime). In 70's San Francisco a fifteen year old girl has an affair with her mom's boyfriend. The film downplays any guilt or shame associated with sex with a man who is more than double her age (let alone her mother's partner). It's just one more random sexual tidbit on the road to female sexual fulfillment, and I guess that's a valid way of looking at it; with Bel Powley, Alexander Skarsgard, Kristen Wiig, Christopher Meloni. 16 wins & 37 nominations. "87" Metascore and I'd go to "84". From a novel by Phoebe Gloeckner.

More of LYNYRD SKYNYRD on BERTCAST.

Finished 'DHURANDHAR' (Netflix). The film is a little bit about gun running, counterfeiting, Indian & Pakistani relations, and over-acting. I guess it's attempting to portray an undercover operation by the Indian authorities to infiltrate and destroy a criminal enterprise operating out of Karachi. One of the settings is the Lyari neighborhood of Karachi, Pakistan; From AI Overview:"...known for its diverse, predominantly Balochi and Sindhi, population. Recently, it has gained attention due to the Bollywood film Dhurandhar, which depicted its history of gang wars and criminal networks, sparking criticism from local residents over its portrayal."
