 Sa 6/27/26

825am (GB: 6/ Red Congolese). 910am (5-B: Diablo Sativa).  1215pm (GB: 6/ Red Congolese). 535pm (GB: 6/ Diablo Sativa).

Up 715am: Morning fog, then clouds (chance of showers) and temps to about 80. I wanted to mow the lawn today, but it might not happen.

A prompt to restart right off the bat. It only took a few moments, but why is there not a hue and cry?

Watched 'THE CIRCLE' (Kanopy). It's a profile of the harshness & unfairness of life under Sharia Law for women who are not connected to family or husbands. Patrols of armed men patrol the streets of Tehran, Iran and randomly stop and question women who are out unaccompanied. The women must keep covered (head to foot and preferably in black) and almost every purchase (for goods or services) requires a male to sign for them. One of the women buys a shirt and it costs $5,200 Iranian tomans and that is approximately $0.52 usd...fifty-two cents! 12 wins & 7 nominations. "85" Metascore and that's about right. From NEW YORK DAILY NEWS- "How dangerous it is to be a woman in Iran, especially one going against the wishes of her menfolk, is brought home time after time in these related vignettes."

Watched 'A COUNTDOWN TO MURDER' (Amazon Prime). Dennis Nilsen was very similar to Milwaukee's Jeffrey Dahmer although he never resorted to cannibalism. He murdered fifteen young men and kept the corpses for companionship. When the dead were in an advanced state of decomposition he clogged the drains in the neighborhood flushing away body parts and this finally alerted the police.

12pm: The PC is 'Off' and heading to Planet Fitness and then to Schnucks for laxative and peanuts (that I overlooked yesterday). It's still too damp to mow, so tomorrow's gonna be another day.

1225pm:  To Planet Fitness... 45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 20"Recumbent Bike, 25"Cross...TWO HOURS AND 15 MINUTES;  binged on 'NEMESIS' (Netflix).

Schnucks: dry roasted peanuts, laxative; $8.00.

Reading 'THE MOSQUITO COAST'

4pm- 445pm phone call to Janny

540pm: In the tub with 'THE MOSQUITO COAST' and listening to ETHIOPIAN JAZZ Playlist; BACK STREET CRAWLER- 'The Band Plays On'; ARTHUR LEE- 'Vindicator'; BABY LEMONADE- 'Best of...'; 'Forever Changes' Live.

RICK BEATO discussed 'Monoculture' with a friend.

Began 'NOTES FROM THE LAST ROW' (Netflix).  I'm hooked already and it seems to be about a creative writing professor who is envious of the writing skills of one of his students. Also, the teacher is very insecure about his own talent as he hasn't published a book in twenty years... "If you can't do it, teach it".
