 Fr 10/23/26

725am {1/4 Extreme Chill 'Wedding Cake' 150 mg: 37 mg total}. 725am (GB: 5/ Maui Wowie). 825am (GB: 5/ Hammerhead INDICA)...This is the first Indica that I've smoked in years- very nice but the gummie is (?) a factor.  1025am (GB: 5/ Hammerhead).  1240pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 825pm (GB: 5/  Hammerhead).

Up 640am: Another sunny & pleasant day with temps to mid 70's.

Watched 'GANDHARI' (Netflix). An Indian couple's young daughter is kidnapped and mom morphs into a 'super agent' to expose and decimate an international child kidnapping ring. So bad that the film was almost good. Mom's martial arts skills wouldn't fool a half-bright seven year old and the only thing that made the film watchable were the authentic sets and locations. The film features a group called 'BAHRUPIYAS' that are a traditional community of nomadic folk artists who are masked gypsy street performers. It was set in West Bengal which is near the border with Bangladesh, although the film was shot in and around Mumbai.

More 'FROM' (Netflix). None of the 'new' people ask any crucial questions concerning their situation; ex- Who was first affected? How long has this been going on? Anybody a native to this town? What's the name of the town?  And, the way the town leaders introduce them to their new reality is more confusing than enlightening. Just a single view from the top floor of a tall building would convince a skeptic in seconds. They did this with one of the characters. Why not all of them?

 1230pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to workout at Planet Fitness.

1250pm: To Planet Fitness...45"Cross, 45"Treadmill, 20"Recumbent Bike, 25"Cross...TWO HOURS AND 15 MINUTES; finished 2nd episode of 'FDR' (Netflix)- Franklin enters WWII; more 'FROM' (Netflix).

Reading 'COMPOSING HIMSELF'

540pm: In the tub with 'COMPOSING HIMSELF and listening to HORACE SILVER- 'Serenade To A Soul Sister'; JERRY GARCIA BAND;

The cover of Silver's 'Serenade To A Soul Sister' was shot by Billy Cobham. Jackie LaBranch later sang backup in The Jerry Garcia Band. Gloria Jones also sang backup in JGB & she was Marc Bolan's partner and driver in the car accident that killed him. {Update: Not the same 'Gloria Jones'; Marc's partner was 'THE QUEEN OF NORTHERN SOUL' and JGB's singer was an Oakland, CA gospel singer}.

Began SAM MORRIL on BILL BURR

More 'FROM' (Netflix). The series was filmed in Nova Scotia, Canada; Beaver Bank was the town (20 miles northwest of Halifax) and the creepy forest was Oakfield Provincial Park. I shut it off 35 minutes into the fifth episode. They're beginning to ask questions (and writing them on the walls), and they think the answer will arrive once they locate where they are. Why aren't they asking who was the first person to arrive? Was anybody living in the town before?

Th 10/2/25- WYNK

 Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". From RogerEbert.com: "In its style, “Magpie” is a marital thriller with noir trappings galore, including an almost ridiculously convoluted (y...

Fr 10/3/25- Brandenburgs/ Gummy

 Fr 10/3/25- Brandenburgs/ Gummy  735am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 820am (3 hits-B: Citrus Mac).  1215pm [I took 1/3 of 'VIIA' 100 mg: 33 mg total].(1-LB: Citrus Mac).  240pm (4 hits-B: Diablo's Hearse). 435pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 530pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 815pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 630am: Rain was "in the area", but missed Westview and more sunny & unseasonably warm weather with temps close to 90. {No rain in a long time & it's getting crunchy}  About 730am several 'tree trimming' trucks arrived and parked just down the street. I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. They disappeared by 10am and I think they were at the house 'with the indoor whirlpool'.  Watched 'UPGRADE' (Netflix).  A very fine 'Dystopian/ SciFi' genre film about a couple in Melbourne ("in a not too distant future") who are in their 'auto...

Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland. "83" Metascore and I would go to "91".  Watched 'BEYOND TRAINSPOTTING: The World Of Irvine Welsh' (Kanopy). An excellent profile of t...
