Up 730am: A mix of sun & clouds with temps to mid 70's. I have vowed to tackle the lawn; hack the 'gardens' in back and maybe even mow the grass for the last time this season. {only some of what actually happened}

Watched 'SURVIVING HURRICANE OTIS' (Netflix). An almost silly tale about a couple of half brothers who are employed on a moored yacht during Hurricane Otis. Kind of like a clumsy 'The Perils of Pauline' set at sea with two guys on a mid-sized boat during a hurricane. Lots of soaked clinging bodies while the special effects machines roar. A documentary about the real storm would have been far more interesting. We 10/25/23- Acapulco, Mexico: The actual weather front developed so quickly that people went to sleep thinking it was only going to be a moderate storm, but by morning it had morphed into a Category 5 event. It is the strongest hurricane to ever make landfall on Mexico's Pacific coast.  The boss tried to buy 'Wirpul' ("he was named after the washing machine") off with $70,000 Mexican pesos and that's about $3,750 usd.

Watched another episode of 'NAZI COLLABORATORS' (Amazon Prime). A profile of Mohammed al-Husseini who was appointed by the British as head of the Arab population in Palestine. After the end of WWI the Brits carved out a place for the Jews in an area controlled & settled by Palestinian Arabs. During WWII Husseini couldn't get what he needed from the British so he sided with Hitler. From a radio broadcast in March, 1944..."Arise, o sons of Arabia. Fight for your sacred rights. Slaughter Jews wherever you find them. Their spilled blood pleases Allah, our history and religion. That will save our honor."

1215pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to tackle the Fall Cleanup without any excuses.  The anxiety of doing the lawn work is stronger than the capacity to put it off any longer.

1) I hope to hack down the growth under the tulip tree in the far backyard. 2) Hack and remove the weeds & plants in the large flower bed. 3) Cut back the overarching branches by the security fence. 4) Rake pine needles and put them beneath the tulip tree. [A half-assed job on all but #4. Might mow the lawn tomorrow or wait till more leaves fall & declare 'mow 'n mulch'].

Watched 'WORLD'S DEADLIEST WEATHER'- a 45" YouTube documentary that contained more info on Hurricane Otis- Acapulco 10/25/2026.  

Began season #3 'HIGH TIDES' (Netflix). The series is set in Knokke, Belgium and that's an upscale beach resort; affluent & glamorous on the North Sea near the border with the Netherlands. I shut it down 7 minutes into the second episode. I remember more of the inter-relationships between the characters than the plot, but it's basically a series about rich people acting entitled with occasional pangs of guilt.
