Su 10/18/26- Flu & COVID  shots

810am (GB: Green Crack). 1220pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 540pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 825pm (GB: 5/ Maui Wowie).

Up 645am: Sunny & breezy with temps to mid 60's.

Weekly Cleaning

***I made an online appointment for flu and COVID shots today at 330pm with the Walgreens at Monroe and Lawrence.

Watched 'WETIKO' (Kanopy). A young man in the Yucatan Peninsula works in his mother's pet shop and his task is to deliver a couple of toads to a religious ceremony that is to convene deep in the jungle. Shamans need the 'milk' of the toads to deliver 'the true' psychedelic experience of the ancient Mayan gods. It's kind of an 'art film' by default because I think that the filmmakers bit off a little more than they could chew, but an 'B-plus' for the effort. Filmed in the Yucatan Peninsula which is in extreme southern Mexico adjacent to Guatemala and Belize. The director, Kerry Mondragon, filmed the thriller on 16mm film while living with a remote Maya family in the area.

Began 'INSIDE THE CIRCLE' (Netflix). I shut it down 31 minutes into the second episode and I'll be back tonight.

12pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to workout at FitClub West and then hit the Walgreens for shots on the way home.

1230pm:  To FitClub West...45"Precor, 45"Treadmill, 20"Recumbent Bike, 25"Cross; an episode of 'THE PHARMACIST' (Netflix)- Man's son is killed by a drug dealer. He blames the makers of Opioids; an episode of 'THE ROTTEN FILES' (Netflix)- A Doordash driver delivers an order and a man is passed out and naked from the waist down. She claims sexual assault and the cops charge her.

315pm- 410pm:  Almost an hour wait; The nurse (boss?) looked at all of my insurance cards, even my Medicare card (I didn't even know that I had one in my wallet). Here's The Rub: Medicare said that insurance pays & insurance said Medicare pays. Walgreens nurse called Medicare (4pm on a Sunday 'Helpline' for Walgreens) & they figured it out. I have no idea. However, I did get the inhaler; I guess it's not covered but it was only thirteen bucks.

Reading 'OIL!'

545pm: In the tub with 'OIL!' and listening to JEFF BECK Playlist; JASON BONHAM- 'In The Name- Zep- Set Electric Lady Land'.

Began KEITH RICHARDS on HOWARD STERN.

On a whim I began 'SCREAMING SKULL' on YouTube. I noticed this film in Kanopy this morning for '4 tokens'; it's only an hour and eight minutes long. I remember seeing this when it hit the theaters in 1958. The Crazy Ad Campaign: If you died of fright while watching this film, the filmmakers would pay for your funeral. That is a great 'tag' to get noticed.

More 'INSIDE THE CIRCLE' (Netflix). I shut it down 10 minutes into episode #3. Too many character names and I can sense that they'll be an over abundance of subplots. I'm still in, though.

Th 10/2/25- WYNK

Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". From RogerEbert.com: "In its style, “Magpie” is a marital thriller with noir trappings galore, including an almost ridiculously convoluted (y...

Fr 10/3/25- Brandenburgs/ Gummy

Fr 10/3/25- Brandenburgs/ Gummy  735am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 820am (3 hits-B: Citrus Mac).  1215pm [I took 1/3 of 'VIIA' 100 mg: 33 mg total].(1-LB: Citrus Mac).  240pm (4 hits-B: Diablo's Hearse). 435pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 530pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 815pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 630am: Rain was "in the area", but missed Westview and more sunny & unseasonably warm weather with temps close to 90. {No rain in a long time & it's getting crunchy}  About 730am several 'tree trimming' trucks arrived and parked just down the street. I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. They disappeared by 10am and I think they were at the house 'with the indoor whirlpool'.  Watched 'UPGRADE' (Netflix).  A very fine 'Dystopian/ SciFi' genre film about a couple in Melbourne ("in a not too distant future") who are in their 'auto...

Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland. "83" Metascore and I would go to "91".  Watched 'BEYOND TRAINSPOTTING: The World Of Irvine Welsh' (Kanopy). An excellent profile of t...
