 Tu 10/20/26

8am {1/4 VIIA 'Day Drift' 100 mg: 25 mg total}. 805am (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 1255pm (GB: 4/ Maui Wowie). 530pm (GB: 5/ Green Crack). 825pm (GB: 5/ Maui Wowie).

Up 640am: Sunny with temps to low 70's.

Did a 'Tuesday Restart'

***I entered the new credit card to Amazon with no problem, but it took Xfinity twenty minutes of watching it trying to digest the change...spin, spin, spin. I finally got it to take. Even though I got a confirmation email I won't know for sure until the card takes the first charge.

Watched 'SACRIFICE' (Netflix). Until the last section of the film it was a very funny satire on 'The One Percenters' vs. 'The (Violent!) Defenders of Mother Nature'. Cockeyed Premise: "The world ends in three days unless we throw three people into the volcano". The glib discussions and cracked points of view were clever and funny, although I was surprised to learn that when they arrived at the site of the sacrificial plunge, the cast and crew were at a real active volcano in Santorini, Greece; with Chris Evans, Anya Tavlor-Joy, Vincent Cassel, Sam Richardson, Salma Havek, John Malkovich. "46" Metascore and I would go to "78". From IndieWire' "A propulsive (and hilarious) comedy that gradually melts into a dreamlike (and not so hilarious) modern fable, this hyper-stylized whatsit might be at its best when shooting fish in a barrel, but Gavras’ film is much less interested in poking fun at easy targets than it is in leveraging its characters — terrorist and hostage alike — towards unformed ideas about truth, performance, and the cleansing power of death in the face of a society so ego-driven that it’s impossible to tell the difference between heroes and clowns."

Watched 'NAZI COLLABORATORS' (Amazon Prime). Vidkun Quisling is profiled and he was the Norwegian leader who picked the wrong side in WWII and paid for it with his life. He assured Hitler that he could swing Norwegian support for the Nazis, but he was only part of the lunatic fringe in Norway and his power existed mainly between his ears. He would have been portrayed as an international hero had Hitler won the war, but he died in disgrace by a British firing squad.

Watched more of  'THE PHARMACIST' (Netflix). I shut it down 25 minutes into the second episode and I'll continue on the treadmill.

1230pm: The PC is 'Off' and the plan is to walk the treadmill.

1pm:  FIVE MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; more 'THE PHARMACIST' (Netflix)- A 'pill-mill' is targeted.

Reading 'OIL!'

440pm: TWO MILES AT 4.1 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched KEVIN RYAN on 'THE WAYBACK' with RYAN SICKLER.

535pm:  In the tub with 'OIL!' and listening to JETHRO TULL- '1st 2 records shuffled'; STEELEYE SPAN- 'Now We Are 6'; JEFFERSON STARSHIP- 'Blows Against The Empire'.

More CANDACE OWENS on THEO VON.

More 'INSIDE THE CIRCLE' (Netflix). I shut it down 38 minutes into episode #5. It's getting more violent and sexual; if the script was tightened up, this would really be something, but I'm still with it.

Th 10/2/25- WYNK

Th 10/2/25 8am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 10am (1-B: Citrus Mac). 1220pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 715am: {took a dump at 4am}. Still unseasonably warm with a mix of sun & clouds. Watched 'MAGPIE' (Kanopy- borrowed 2 days ago).  It's basically a tale of 'Adultery & Revenge' although this isn't made clear until the last few minutes of the film. A wealthy couple live in a modern villa in the English countryside. He's a successful author, she is a housewife (she used to be in publishing) and their young daughter is co-starring in a big budget film that's being shot  near their home. Dad falls 'in lust' for the female star of the film, but his wife is several moves ahead. "69" Metascore and I would boost that to "80". From RogerEbert.com: "In its style, “Magpie” is a marital thriller with noir trappings galore, including an almost ridiculously convoluted (y...

Fr 10/3/25- Brandenburgs/ Gummy

Fr 10/3/25- Brandenburgs/ Gummy  735am (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 820am (3 hits-B: Citrus Mac).  1215pm [I took 1/3 of 'VIIA' 100 mg: 33 mg total].(1-LB: Citrus Mac).  240pm (4 hits-B: Diablo's Hearse). 435pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse). 530pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 815pm (1-LB: Diablo's Hearse).  Up 630am: Rain was "in the area", but missed Westview and more sunny & unseasonably warm weather with temps close to 90. {No rain in a long time & it's getting crunchy}  About 730am several 'tree trimming' trucks arrived and parked just down the street. I first thought that they were for the house across the street, but it looks like the action is farther down the road. They disappeared by 10am and I think they were at the house 'with the indoor whirlpool'.  Watched 'UPGRADE' (Netflix).  A very fine 'Dystopian/ SciFi' genre film about a couple in Melbourne ("in a not too distant future") who are in their 'auto...

Borrowed 'HOLY COW' and 'TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH' from Hoopla to meet my quota for September. Watched 'HOLY COW' (Hoopla). A troubled teen and his young sister try to make a go of it on their farmstead dairy after their father dies. It's got a strange tone and far from an average 'coming of age' tale. Set in far eastern France near the rural villages of Pimorin and Orgelet which are about 75 miles west of Geneva, Switzerland. "83" Metascore and I would go to "91".  Watched 'BEYOND TRAINSPOTTING: The World Of Irvine Welsh' (Kanopy). An excellent profile of t...
