The Cheese Stands Alone

Mo 8/11/25- ProBid Roof Inspection/ Gummy  645am (1-LB: LA Runtz). 730am (3 hits-B: LA Runtz). 910am (1/2 B: LA Runtz)...After The Roof Inspection... 110pm [I took 1/3 VIIA 100 mg Gummy:  33 mg total]. 125pm (2-LB: a mix of LA & Citrus). 540pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 820pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac).  Up 545am: Partly cloudy with temps to upper 80's and still sticky.  Watched 'UNTIL DAWN' (Netflix). It's a standard Teen Scream genre film and no new ground was broken. A group of young people are forced to stay the night in a demon filled house. If they survive one night, they are free. But if they can't, they must stay to die again, and again and again...Average looking ghouls chase cute teens through an infinite variety of tunnels and basements. "47" Metascore and I would go to "70". It was based on a video game- big surprise. Watched 'APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS' (Netflix). This was the second horror film of the day and the most real & powerfu...

Su 8/10/25- Gummy 650am {I took 1/2 of a 125 mg 'diet smoke' gummy}. 745am (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 825am (3 hits-B: LA Runtz). 1225pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: LA Runtz).  820pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac).  Up 615am: Sticky & cloudy with temps to upper 80's. Weekly Cleaning Watched 'I AM LOVE' (Amazon Prime). A crazy tale that was a cut above the usual high priced soap opera. It's about a very rich family in contemporary Milan where the mom falls in lust for one of her son's friends.  I thought that her son was more than a friend to this guy and they might be gay. The two young men were going to open a restaurant together, but I don't see how that could even remotely be possible and the movie doesn't address this issue. Very well shot and it is an Art Film that's intelligent & moving. Tilda Swindon is exceptional as the mom. Set in Milan, Italy and mostly filmed at a 1930's 'modernist mansion' near Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan,...

Sa 8/9/25 750am (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 825am (3 hits-B: LA Runtz). 1020am (1/2-LB: LA Runtz). 110pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 255pm (1/2-B: Citrus Mac). 435pm (4 hits-LB: LA Runtz). 535pm (1-LB: LA Runtz). 815pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac).  Up 7am: Sunny & blistering with temps to just above 90 and 'feels like' over 100. The Black Crowes are playing tonight at the Illinois State Fair and I'm considering (10% chance & fading) attending the concert, but....it's going to be sweltering hot and the fairgrounds will be packed with drunken deplorables.  I am a big fan of their opening act, 'SOUTHALL'. They sound very similar to 'THE LONG RYDERS'. Watched 'BARBARIAN' (Netflix).  The film is set in a bed & breakfast in the suburban slums of contemporary Detroit. People who rent the property can end up dead in the tunnels beneath the home. REASON: A man was kidnapping women during the Reagan Years, making them pregnant and then 'breeding' with all of t...

Fr 8/8/25- Gummy 725am (2-LB: a mix of LA & Citrus). 730am {I took 1/2 of a 125 mg DIET SMOKE gummy: 60 mg total}. 935am (1/2-LB: Citrus Mac). 1055am (3 hts- B: LA Runtz). 1240pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 535pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 815pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac).   Up 615am: Hot & sunny with temps to about 90 and 'feels like' much higher.  I ordered another box of incense from Amazon and it will be here tomorrow. The DIET SMOKE order has reached Springfield (again) and at 444am this morning it was 'out for delivery'. It's been in 'delivery limbo' for almost ten days.  Watched 'JUST THE TWO OF US' (Amazon Prime).  A powerful French drama about a marriage that goes toxically bad. The film builds so slowly that you barely recognize how 'love' has turned into 'control'. Step by tiny step, the wife very slowly realizes that she has been trapped. The film works as a brilliant 'How To' video for gaslighting your partner; with Virginie Ef...

Th 8/7/25 630am (1-LB: a mix of LA & Citrus). 715am (3 hits-B: LA Runtz). 935am (1/2-B: LA Runtz). 1210pm (1-LB: LA Runtz). 145pm (1/2-LB: LA RUNTZ). 435pm (1/2- LB: LA RUNTZ). 535pm (1-LB: LA Runt). 815pm (1-LB: LA Runtz).  Up 530am: A mix of sun & clouds with temps to about 90 with the discomfort index much higher. First day of the Illinois State Fair.  Watched 'CUT OFF' (Amazon Prime). Two stories intertwined-  1) A German coroner's daughter is kidnapped; 2) A young woman on Heligoland Island stumbles upon the corpse of a man. There are clues inserted into the corpse that reveal that the killer is connected to the kidnapper. The noteworthy part of the film is when the young woman must perform a makeshift autopsy to uncover the clues while on the phone with the coroner. The plot is very convoluted, but it's a wild chase. The killer hides on the helicopter (as a corpse) and in the final scene in the movie he is shoved out of the helicopter. Justice Served. ...

We 8/6/25- Gummy 645am {I took 1/2 of 'DIET SMOKE' 125 mg gummy}. 730am (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 810am (3 hits-B: LA Runtz). 940am (4 hits-B: LA Runtz). 1245pm (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 140pm (3 hits-B: LA Runtz). 430pm (3 hits- B: LA Runtz). 535pm (1-LB: LA Runtz). 825pm (2-LB: Citrus Mac).  Up 615am: A mix of sun & clouds with temps almost to 90 and the humidity is rising. Windows shut & AC is  'On'. 645am:  To the County Market/ Fairhills for apples and Zero Mountain Dew. Watched 'THE WOLF OF WALL STREET' (Hoopla- leaving soon). Based on the memoir of Jordan Belfort, the main character and narrator of the film. It's an over the top treatment of the predatory nature of Wall Street and loaded with wild and edgy scenes worthy of Hieronymus Bosch. At three hours it's a little long, but this is the kind of film that's worth multiple viewings; with Leonardo DiCaprio, Johan Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Kyle Chandler (BLOODLINE), Rob Reiner....

Tu 8/5/25 705am (1-LB: a mix of LA & Citrus). 750am (3 hits-B: LA Runtz). 1005am (1-LB: Citrus Mac). 1235pm (3 hits- LA RUNTZ). 430pm (1-LB: LA Runtz). 530am (1-LB: Citrus Mac).  Up 6am: Partly cloudy with temps to low 80's.  Watched 'PEPPERMINT CANDY' (Netflix). The film begins with an inebriated man in a suit crashing a party of people having a picnic by a river beneath a railroad bridge. Later, the man is on the bridge and he stands in front of a train and is run over. The movie then flashes back to incidents in his life that led him to the bridge. This is the kind of film that would require another viewing, although once is all the effort I will expend.  I'll watch a six minute YouTube explanation of the film later. {After the video I realized that I had hit the high points}  950am: The PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. First I'll grind more weed and set the rice cooker so that I can turn it on so the rice will be ready when I fi...
