Su 2/28/21

Su 2/28/21 905am. 1210pm. 930pm. Up 745am: Cloudy, breezy with temps to almost60. I borrowed three films from Hoopla: 'BITCOIN'(60"), 'BLAZING SADDLES', 'TULSA'. Watched 'BLAZING SADDLES' (Hoopla). Richard Pryor gets a writing credit. Questionable at first, but after watching the film it makes brilliant sense. A timeless classic that's shocking, provocative, racist, and side-splitting; with Cleavon Little, Gene Wilder, Slim Pickens, Harvey Korman, and Mel Brooks. Released in 1974 and it isn't one second less funny almost a half century later.  ***Bathroom faucets are steadily leaking. Handyman or Plumber is needed. Watched 'BITCOIN- The End of Money As We Know It' (Hoopla- 60"). Bitcoin is money designed for the Internet. It eliminates the middleman in that it keeps a record of your credits and debits but you don't pay a bank for this service. It's free and the software is completely transparent and cannot be hacked or ...

Sa 2/27/21- 1st Visit To 3226 Red Oak Lane

Sa 2/27/21- 1st Visit To 3226 Red Oak Lane 845am. 435pm. 910pm. Up 730am: Bright and sunny with temps to 60. I will get in my four miles on the treadmill and then head to the lake district or North 19th.  4 MILES all at 3.5 pace and watched the last part of the 'UTOPIA' (Amazon Prime) episode I began last night and another episode of 'UTOPIA' and some of  'HOW NEAL FEEL'.  11am: PC is 'Off' and going to hit the treadmill, eat a bowl of rice and head out.  4 MILES on THE TREADMILL and watched another complete episode of 'UTOPIA' (Amazon Prime). I texted twice but didn't get a reply, so I headed out at 1215pm. I talked to the 'chainsaw lady' briefly before I left. Her dog is called, 'Angel'. My phone had directions to 'Redbud Lane' which is only a couple of streets away from 'Red Oak Lane'. Jamie, Melissa, her father, Jamie, and their boys were all there. Apparently they all (including Jon and Whitney's fami...

Fr 2/26/21- Ear Cleaning- Ellison's office at 135pm.

Fr 2/26/21- Ear Cleaning- Ellison's office at 135pm. 9am. 445pm. 10pm. Up 740am: Partly sunny, breezy with temps to about 50. Watched 'THE TOWN' (Amazon Prime- leaving on March 1st). More bank robbers and armored car thieves come from Charlestown, Boston than anywhere else in the world.  The story of a crew who takes a female hostage during a bank robbery and one of the gang falls in love with her. The movie leads up to the robbery of Fenway Park after a sold out baseball game; with Ben Affleck, Rebecca Hall, Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Titus Welliver, Pete Postlethwaite, Chris Cooper, and Blake Lively (THE RHYTHM SECTION)... "60,000 beers sold".  "Trying to make it sound 'au-then-tish-ish'." 1240pm: Finished the film on the treadmill and to get in the miles before I take off for the appointment. More of the WU TANG CLAN bio {Amazon Prime}... 4 MILES at 3.5 pace. 130pm: at Memorial on N. Dirksen. The nurse cleaned both ears and there was a degree o...

Th 2/25/21

Th 2/25/21 930am. 115pm. 455pm. 940pm. Up 8am: Partly sunny with highs in the mid 40's. Watching 'ARI SHAFFIR- This Is Not Happening' on YouTube. "We went camping to take mushrooms in Malibu Creek State Park and our tent was two stories, it had a chimney and came with a receptionist."  Watched 'THE RHYTHM SECTION' (Amazon Prime). Surviving as a junkie prostitute Stephanie learns that her parents didn't die in an accidental plane crash. Terrorists placed a bomb on their plane and eager for revenge, she teams up with an ex-MI6 operative who teaches her the game of spycraft. Much better than I thought it would be- ; "...a tense and engaging thriller...". Shot in Dublin and Wicklow, Ireland; Cadiz, Madrid, Almeria, San Martin De Valdeiglesias, Spain and NYC; with Blake Lively (her character goes from 'Pathetic' to 'Lethal') and Jude Law (a small role, but sharply defined). Where did the title come from? Wrote Janny and said that ...

We 2/24/21- Beltone:2pm.

We 2/24/21- Beltone:2pm. 10am. 925pm. Up 820am: Partly sunny with temps to 50. The next week temps in the 40's and upper 50's. Joined Instagram to read Sharon McMahon and was hardly worth the effort. Why doesn't she just post on YouTube? Watched 'THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS' (Amazon Prime). Michael Mann directs and although he is know for his fantastic car chases, but this is his take on 18th century war- muskets, hatchets, and cannons galore. Very effective and lots of 'determined' running through forests; with Daniel Day Lewis and Madeleine Stowe. The best 'French and Indian War' film of all time (not too many out there).  1150am: Decided to finish this on the treadmill and still got in FOUR AND A HALF MILES and make the appointment at 2pm. Finished 'Mohicans',  the rest of GRAHAM PARSONS bio, and an ARI SHAFFIR~ His 10th Anniversary Podcast. 2pm: tech said that my ears were so blocked that the inner ear was not visible. To Walmart ~ 8 cat fo...

Tu 2/23/21

Tu 2/23/21 915am. 145pm. 1020pm. Up 730am: Sunny, breezy with temps to the low 50's. Spring Sprang? Put 'CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS'- Dave Holland on the mp3 player. Called Brewer to pick up another gel-pen later today. Watched 'OPERATION FINALE' (Netflix). A rather bland exploration of the capture of Adolf Eichmann in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1960. Eichmann's son was dating a girl who figured out who his father was and notified the Mossad. The film seems to be an accurate portrayal of the real events. He really was smuggled out disguised as a very drunk commercial airline pilot; with Oscar Isaac, Ben Kingsley, and Melanie Laurent. Watched the last episode of 'AMEND- The Fight For America' (Netflix). The 13th Amendment states that all Americans are Free, and the 14th Amendment ensures the rights of citizens under 'the equal protection of the law'. Both statues were intended to deal primarily with slavery, but these two amendments ( especially the 1...

Mo 2/22/21

Mo 2/22/21 845am. A crumb- 1020am. 330pm. 10pm. Up 740am: Partly cloudy, breezy with temps to low 40's and 50 tomorrow. Temps for the next week will be in the 40's and low 50's. Then I watched the next two episodes of 'AMEND- The Fight For America' (Netflix). This might be one of the best 'History Re-visited' series I've ever seen. It's refreshing to hear a truer look at the historical record rather than the more sanitized 'official' version. Even today a significant number of white Americans believe that Reconstruction 'proved' that blacks were not qualified to govern and clearly 'The White Man's Burden'. This episode: Desegregation of the schools was the foot in the door for racial equality. All Americans, regardless of Race....now Sex, Gender, or almost anything else, are do equal protection under the law. What's the big deal?  And the next episode focuses on 'Romantic Paternalism'. A female military office...
