Such an odd subject for a film and that makes it almost watchable. A kooky waitress and a sleazy English bartender conspire to rob a trendy, Lower East Side bar/restaurant. When it fails, they bet that the waitress can escape from a locked mailbag in a tank of water...just like Harry Houdini; with Rosanna Arquette, David Bowie, Andre Gregory, Buck Henry, Marlee Matlin. The only unanswered question is why on earth would Bowie become involved with this obvious misstep? Watched 'WHITE CHICKS' ...

This film centers on the dysfunctional relationship between the Empress and her 'Lady in Waiting' (?). This Elisabeth is a raving lunatic and her servants are her slaves. I wonder how close this depiction is to the historical truth.  3 wins & 9 nominations. "60" Metascore and I would go to "75". 1030am: A fire truck pulled up in front of the old lady's house next door. Looks like a medical emergency. Three guys went in,  came out and drove away. Interviews (with his wife and daughters) and fictional recreations tell the tale of the youngest scientist on the Manhattan Project, Ted Hall. He shared classified nuclear secrets with the Soviets because he felt that such powerful knowledge should not be owned by one nation. He felt that America had no right to be the only nation to wield this terrifying power. FUN FACT: The United Nations declared nuclear weapons illegal in December of 2021. A nerdy college professor at New Orleans University moonlights as an undercover agent for the local police. He finds that he has a genuine ability to immerse himself into the role of an astute and competent hitman for hire. Later one of his 'clients' becomes the love of his life. The premise of the film is that 'hitmen' are far more rare than we think. In reality very few people will risk a death sentence even for several thousand dollars.
