I had to call because I couldn't register online. It wanted my name as it appeared on the card, but when I used 'N' and 'Jr' it wouldn't work, but took off when I deleted them. Of course, the clerk had no idea why it worked (or didn't work). I wrote the Wrap and asked Janny and Joe to decide on what flavor of Xmas pie that they would like from Ameriprise. Waiting for 'Quality and Affordable Lawn Care'. They're supposed to be here sometime after 10am. The guy had trouble finding it under 'Ken Worden'. And, they've finally come up with cheaper packaging- a plastic bag instead of a designer paper bag.  Will try to watch 'DAYS OF THE BAGNOLD SUMMER' on Kanopy and if it doesn't work it's on Tubi. It played flawlessly and it might be that Kanopy works best when you logon separately instead of from Google Chrome. A sweet coming-of-age tale about a sullen teenage boy and his divorced librarian mother during the summer his father cancelled the boy's visit to Dad's new home (and new family) in Florida. A group of men who were sexually abused by Catholic priests join forces to make a documentary about their experiences. They will create something that will allow them to 'act out' the abuse and then put the shame and hurt behind them. Seemed kooky,  yet apparently the process worked. I contacted Adam and wrote a positive review of Helitech. Four separate cases demonstrate the unfairness of the Mexican judicial system. I watched the first case about a traffic accident that turned into a kidnapping case. A man drives into the side of a guy's car. He pulls a gun and shoots the driver of the car that he hit. Later the shooter has his sister say that she was kidnapped by some men. This is an untruth because the writer has just lost his mind and has hallucinated the wicked interloper. A crazy romp of a film and not meant to be taken too seriously. A critic complained that this was Stephen King's self-aggrandising testament to the horrors of 'writer's block', but I thought it was just a wryly humorous movie that was shallow fun; with Johnny Depp, Maria Bello, John Turturro, Charles S. A 'Buddy/Road' film that's a cut-above the usual saccharine sweet storylines of the genre. A kid driving west on his way to begin art school meets a quirky stranger who changes his life. The two lead characters were well written and the 'free thinking drifter' was right on the money. He might be suffering from bipolar disorder or just stubborn and immature; with Tony Revolori, Jason Mantzoukas, Taissa Farmiga, Grace Gummer (daughter of Meryl Streep and regular on 'MR. Watched 'THE LAST DAYS OF AMERICAN CRIME' (Netflix- it got a 'Metascore' of 15 at IMDB). In a dystopian American future, authorities develop a radio signal that suppresses the desire and ability to commit crime. It's known as 'API'- 'The American Peace Initiative' and the sociopathic son of a major crime figure plans the biggest heist of all time the night before all crime ends in the United States of America.  An interesting premise, but a failed execution. However, Michael Pitt's scene-chewing performance almost makes it almost worth it; with Edgar Ramirez, Anna Brewster, and Michael Pitt. Watched 'BLOODWORTH' (Amazon Prime). A great cast, but the depiction of "How Southern People Act" might seem offensive to some, but the characters are quirky and memorable; with Kris Kristofferson, Val Kilmer, Hilary Duff, Reece Thompson, W.Earl Brown, and Dwight Yoakam. Filmed about 40 miles northeast of Wilmington, NC. I noticed that it was based on the novel 'PROVINCES OF NIGHT' by William Gay and I ordered a six dollar copy from Amazon. Some shared details, but the series is very different from the book. Much cooler and highs tomorrow only to the low 40's. Watched 'THE HARDER THEY FALL' (Netflix). It's a fable of black cowboy gangsters and gunslingers of color in a reimagined American West. Highly stylized violence with lots of slo-mo and the killed and wounded are true to the title and they fall 'very hard'; with Idris Elba, LaKeith Stanfield, Regina King, RJ Cyler (I'M DYING UP HERE), Damon Wayans Jr., and Jonathan Majors.   Watched the first episode of 'LA REVOLUTION' (Netflix). I bailed at twelve minutes. It's a slice of the French Revolution with a vampire subplot and although it's well-shot and pleasant on the eyes, it is a little tedious.  Next is 'WELCOME TO THE FAMILY' (Netflix). And this Spanish 'rom-com/dysfunctional family' series made it to the twenty-five minute mark ...

 Tu 11/9/21- ATT Call For Insurance 2022 9pm. A very confusing day....that's why. Up 7am: Cloudy with temps to low 60's. ***I wanted to wait until I opened the PC, but when I tried to get online, there was no internet connection. At 8am I got the signal and over 110 mbps even on the phone. I was in the bedroom using the Chromebook.  I opened the living room PC and online with only a bit of a problem, but then it took off. I spent about an hour checking out the AON, ATT, and Aetna sites and learned less than nothing. Someone had given me the name of the Aetna Dental Plan (AETNA ADVANTRA MEDICARE PREMIUM PPOH7301-009) that I should get and this might not present too much of a problem, but I cannot find the details of the plan that I have or this new one. If they set out to make this more complicated they couldn't make it any more confusing than it already is. A young teenager disappears coming home from dance class. Months later her body is found and DNA of the killer/rapist is recovered, but the Italians don't have a database for comparison. This is probably one of the first times that police had been allowed to collect random DNA from the local population for use in a criminal investigation. A couple of years later authorities find a blood relative that was genetically linked to the murderer and this leads to the arrest of the perpetrator.  He was sentenced to life and still maintains his innocence.  Set in the Province of Bergamo, Italy which is located about 52 miles northeast of Milan- Not too far from the Swiss border.   I was going to watch the next episode of 'MAID' (Netflix), but decided to get in an early...

A family buys a lodge in a very rural area of Korea and their first guest commits suicide. To avoid inquires, they bury the body but soon they must kill more and more visitors to keep the secret. It's based on' THE HAPPINESS OF THE KATAKURIS' by Takashi Miike and that was probably the better film and it's available to stream on Tubi. A superior soundtrack with music by The Stray Cats, The Box Tops, Harry Nilsson, and The Delinquent Habits.   We 11/3/21 940am. 125pm. 9pm.  Up 8am: Mostly sunny with temps to about 50. Watched 'ARMY OF THIEVES' (Netflix). It's a safe cracking/heist movie that takes place in Europe while a zombie pandemic is just beginning in the US. This catastrophic setting is because the film is a prequel to 'ARMY OF THE DEAD' and that's the one that concerns the zombies.  I've got that movie in my Netflix queue. The premise of this movie is that Franz Wagner was a legendary safe maker who created four vaults that were nearly impossible to open without the combination or the key. The code to open the safes is tied to Richard Wagner's Ring Cycle and a small crew of die-hards try to do the impossible and open the safes.
