Su 2/27/22

Su 2/27/22 820am. 1040am (a pinch). 1215pm (a pinch). 740pm. Up 630am: Bright and sunny with temps to lower 40's. ***Did the Weekly Cleaning early. Watched 'REPOSSESSION' (Hoopla). An intelligent genre-bending film about a man who loses his job and his mind soon follows. He and his wife and daughter live in an expensive Singapore high rise and the guilt and shame of not being able to provide for his family becomes too much for dad. The 'evil' might be a real trip into an alternative reality or a manifestation of his inner demons and the film can be interpreted either way. I really liked it.  Then I watched fifty minutes into the second installment (dropped last week) of 'JEEN-YUHS: A Kanye Trilogy' (Netflix). I'm still not convinced about his music but there is no doubt that he is a bright and clever individual. How'd he get mixed up with the Kardashians?  1200pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for an afternoon at Planet Fitness.  1230pm: To Plane...

Sa 2/26/22

Sa 2/26/22 8am. 1040am (a pinch). 8pm.  Up 630am: Bright and sunny with temps to low 30's. I had hoped to walk today, but Westview is still snow covered and icy (8am). ***Borrowed 'REPOSSESSION' AND 'THE SUBJECT' from Hoopla. Watched 'THE SUBJECT' (Hoopla). A tearjerker about a documentary filmmaker who is shooting a film about inner city youth.  During the shoot one of his stars is beaten to death yet he continues to film instead of stopping the fight. The dead kid's mom confronts him and forces him to take responsibility. A low budget affair, but some credible acting and well worth a look. Watched 'DONNIE DARKO' (Kanopy).  I'd forgotten all about this wonderful film. Darkly funny, thoughtful, and totally different and an amazing cast; with Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Mary McDonnell, Holmes Osborne, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Patrick Swayze. 12 wins & 16 nominations.  "Weird, and I meant that as a compliment"..."What are fe...

Fr 2/25/22

Fr 2/25/22 9am. 330pm (3 hits/bong). 8pm.  Up 650am: Partly cloudy with temps to upper 20's. We got about a total of 3 inches of snow. ***I shoveled the walk and driveway- 745am-8am.  'WALDEN TWO' was in the mailbox that I had ordered from Amazon.   Watched 'BLACKHAT'(Netflix).  Michael Mann directs a flashy international thriller about computer espionage. An American 'super-hacker' is sprung from jail to spearhead an effort by US intelligence and China to crack a 'bad actor'. A 'blackhat' has gained entry to a Chinese nuclear power plant to cause the reactor to overheat by shutting down the cooling system. However, this is only a test. The 'blackhat' wants to flood the world's biggest tin mines to render them inaccessible and then take advantage of the subsequent spike in the price of tin. Michael Mann is known for frenzied car chases yet in this film there's an excellent foot chase with machine guns; with Chris Hemsworth, Vi...

Th 2/24/22- Snow!

Amazon order arrived yesterday (We 2/23/22): 2 long underwear,  6 underwear briefs, gray fleece moccasins, Patchouli incense.  Th 2/24/22- Snow! 8am. 1115am (1 hit/ 2 hitter). 245pm  (1 hit/ 2 hitter).  550pm (3 hits/bong). 755pm.  Up 620am: About a half inch of snow on the ground and it's to begin again around noon today. Temps to about 30 and still 1"-4" predicted before it ends very early Friday morning. Watched Netflix disc 'ABOVE SUSPICION'.  I didn't read a thing about this film, so I'll just let it roll and see if I can determine why I picked it.  A slick 'B-Movie' about an ambitious FBI agent who seduces a young Kentucky woman into ratting out her bank robbing and drug dealing friends. The sultry confidential informant ends up murdered by her FBI lover and she becomes the first known murder victim by an agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation-(Wikipedia). 'Da Hood comes to rural Kentucky; with Emilia Clarke (GAME OF THRONES), Jack...

We 2/23/22- Amazon Order

We 2/23/22 (Amazon order arrived (We 2/23/22): 2 long underwear,  6 underwear briefs, gray fleece moccasins, Patchouli incense)  820am. 1245pm. 735pm.   Read the email from Janny and Joe on their vacation to Panama City. They are in a hotel on the beach and it's 70 degrees in the afternoons. Up 635am: Cloudy, raw, and occasional flurries with temps to the upper 20's. One to four inches of snow are still on tap for tomorrow. Watched Netflix disc 'WHERE'S MY ROY COHN?'. Roy Cohn was friends with Barbra Walters and claimed that they were engaged. Cohn's relationship with Donald Trump is closely examined and there's no denying that Cohn's style is obviously part of Trump's methodology. 'Where's My Roy Cohn' is a direct quote from Donald Trump.  When politically attacked during the Mueller investigation, Trump could not accept the fact that the Attorney General of the United States is a public servant and owes allegiance to the American peopl...

Tu 2/22/22

Tu 2/22/22 920am. 1140am (3 hits /bong). 550pm (3 hits /bong). 740pm.  Up 750am after being kept up by the storm and sleeping with frenzied dreams. Huge rainstorm from 4am-445am. Buddy was freaked out and I was anxious about water downstairs, but when I checked this morning- bone dry! It's 55 at 9am and breezy with dropping temps all day. Wednesday's high is only in the upper 20's and three inches of snow is predicted for Thursday. I watched 'DON'T KILL ME (Netflix). It's a curious Italian vampire tale about a couple who die in a drug overdose. The girl comes back to life and learns that she is one of the 'Overdead' and a violent and secret international group is out to exterminate all of 'her kind'.  The film adds a little freshness to the overtaxed 'vampire genre'.  Watched the last episode of 'INVENTING ANNA' (Netflix). A brilliant series and not too serious and not too off-the-wall, just a quirky, playful tone. I loved it.  11...

Mo 2/21/22

Mo 2/21/22 8am. 1pm. 540pm (3 hits/bong).  Up 630am: Mostly sunny with temps almost to 60. Wrote up 'HOW TO DO NOTHING- Resisting the Attention Economy' by Jenny Odell. Watched 'STAGECOACH' (Hoopla). Snappy, smart aleck dialog that's so over the top it's hysterical, but because the stars of the film were the royalty of 'Outlaw Country' music it almost makes it worthwhile- ex. "What's a uterus? It's part of her machinery"; with Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, John Schneider, Elizabeth Ashley, Anthony Newley, Anthony Franciosa, June Carter Cash, and Jessi Colter. Music by David Allan Coe and Willie Nelson.  The San Carlos Apache Indians; B Troop, Fort Huachuca, Arizona; Filmed at Old Tucson, Arizona.  Watched the penultimate episode of 'INVENTING ANNA' (Netflix).  ***Chat Wrap written & sent. 115pm: Parkview, southside of Wash.Pk., Wiggins, Outer Park, Lincoln, Leland, Walnut, southside of Wash...

Su 2/20/22

Su 2/20/22 830am. 1250pm. 6pm (1 hit/1 hitter). 730pm.  Up 640am: Bright, sunny, breezy with temps to about 50. Tomorrow almost 60! ***715am-745am- I did the Weekly Cleaning early today. Watched 'WHITE RABBIT' (Tubi). A troubled high school student is bullied by the kids at school and nearly all of the adults in his life and, of course, he's the natural choice for a school shooter. Some good performances, but I agree with this "...neutralize the politics of a mass killing and focus more on the psychic stress that triggered it. But even if that was the case, it doesn’t make the film any less crushingly banal"; with Nick Kraus (THE DESCENDANTS). Watched more of 'HIT & RUN' (Netflix).   And then began another episode of  'INVENTING ANNA' (Netflix). One of the guests at the exclusive downtown hotel demanded that the concierge secure a reservation to a park because they didn't want to wait, "Ma'am, it's a public park, you just show ...

Sa 2/19/22- Amazon Order

Sa 2/19/22 825am. 205pm(2 hits/1 hitter). 550pm (3 hits/bong). 805pm. Up 7am: Bright and sunny with temps to low 20's. The plan is to hit County Market for the grocery shopping early this afternoon. ***For some reason my notes on the film last night didn't seem to update my email. I'll have to check this tonight. Began 'INVENTING ANNA' (Netflix). Absolutely worth the wait! 1145am: Cut it off at 30" into episode #3. To continue on the treadmill. 1205pm: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 1.0 SLANT and more 'INVENTING ANNA' (Netflix). 215pm-330pm: To County Market:$112 and put groceries away. Read "HOW TO DO NOTHING'/snacked/napped 550pm: In the tub with 'HOW TO DO NOTHING' and listening to THE BUDOS BAND II; THE DAKTARIS- 'Soul Explosion'. I ordered WALDEN 2, incense, briefs, thermal pants, fleece moccasins from Amazon; $71. Watched some 'shorts' on Netflix. 'BILL HICKS- Reflections'- Hicks's older brother does thirty...

Fr 2/18/22 840am. 1140am (2 hits/bong). 550pm (2 hits/bong). 740pm.  Up 640am: Bright and sunny with temps to low 30's and winds picking up late this afternoon. ***Shoveled the walk and driveway: 725am-750am. About four inches of powder and an easy job even though the wind-chill was about zero.  Plows hit Westview at 845am. Watched 'THE DESCENDANTS' (Amazon Prime). A property lawyer in Hawaii with two unruly daughters must deal with the fact that his wife is about to be removed from life support after a tragic boating accident. Then he learns that his wife had been cheating on him, and if that wasn't enough, he is in the midst of the sale of a multi-million dollar land trust that had been in his family for over a century; with George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, Nick Krause, Beau Bridges, Robert Forster, Matthew Lillard, and Judy Greer. Directed by Alexander Payne: Won 1 Oscar- 65 wins & 148 nominations...With regard to inheritance: 'You give your children enough ...

Th 2/17/22- Blizzard!/ Buddy Threw Up

Th 2/17/22- Blizzard! 830am. 1010am (1 hit/1 hitter). 535pm (2 hits/bong). 740pm.  Up 645am: Wintry mix beginning about 9am, changing to snow through early evening. Temps falling all day and near zero tonight. "Total snow accumulations of 5 to 9 inches  with north winds gusting as high as 40 mph". ***11am: Sleet falling and Westview is coated with 1/4" of ice in less than a half hour. Snowing steadily and has covered the streets and lawns by 1130am. Heavy snow with blowing and drifting by noon.  ***430pm: still snowing hard and when it all ended about 630pm, I would guess about 4" fell at 940 Westview. Watched 'MIAMI VICE' (Peacock). Crockett and Tubbs infiltrate a large scale cocaine syndicate and the film boasts a compelling storyline, authentic characters, and some nifty small arms gunplay; with Colin Farrell (this might be his best role of his career), Jamie Foxx, Gong Li, Ciaran Hinds, Barry Shabaka Henley (BOSCH), Luis Tosar, John Ortiz, and Domenick ...

We 2/16/22

We 2/16/22 815am. 130pm. 635pm (a pinch). 730pm.  Up 630am: Cloudy, windy, and much warmer with temps to mid 50's! Rain beginning late this afternoon and changing to 'wintry mix' early Thursday morning through Thursday night. Several inches of snow are expected Thursday and frigid temps on Friday. Watched Netflix disc 'BUFFALOED'.  An odd and curious film that's thought provoking and partly hysterical. Buffalo New York has become a mecca for unscrupulous debt collectors where millions of dollars are hauled in with little or no government regulations. The institution where you borrowed the money has neither the time nor the inclination to chase you down for an unpaid loan, so they sell 'your paper' for pennies on the dollar; with Zoey Deutch and Judy Greer.  The Theme: "Stop trying not to get poor and start trying to get rich"...A Wild Quote: "Women fake orgasms and men fake finances"..."I wouldn't say no to a fishstick"....

Tu 2/15/22

Tu 2/15/22 8am. 1240pm. 530pm (a pinch). 730pm.  Up 630am: Partly sunny with temps almost to 50. Paid the credit card. Watched Netflix disc 'THE LAST FULL MEASURE'. A government official is persuaded to look into the matter of a posthumous Medal of Honor for an American soldier who died in Vietnam decades previously. The movie is a somewhat inept ode to courage and honor that fails to resonate. A star-studded cast, yet the film is predictable to a fault and all of the shopworn clichés about bravery are scrutinized; with Sebastian Stan, William Hurt, Christopher Plummer, Dian Ladd, Samuel L. Jackson, Amy Madigan, Peter Fonda, Ed Harris, and Bradley Whitford. I didn't dislike the film, but it did not ring true. War is the failure of diplomatic statecraft and these fighting men suffered because little was done to prevent the conflict in the first place and why this  happened would have made a better film. The concept of war will not fade away until people begin to end the glor...

Mo 2/14/22- Buddy Somewhat Sick

Mo 2/14/22 840am. 1220pm. 6pm (3 hits/ bong). 755pm.  Up 630am: Sunny with temps to mid 30's and warmer tomorrow. Wrote up 'STAR CHILD' by Fred Mustard Stewart for the blog. ***To highlight and cut and paste 1) left click on where you want to start 2) Depress Shift key 3) Move the mouse So glad I found this technique. I've been having problems with this function for a long time. It wasn't the mouse at all! Spent entirely too long trying to sync albums to the mp3 player- No consistent plan, just keep banging away until it works; 'Mighty Like A Rose', 'Blue Blvd', 'Karma', 'Drunk With Passion'.  Watched 'I'M NO LONGER HERE' (Netflix). An excellent Mexican film about a seventeen year old boy from Mexico who bonds with a gang of kids who love the music and style of the Kolombia counterculture movement. However, he runs afoul of the local gang cartel and flees to Jackson Heights, NY, but he cannot gain a foothold. For him, ther...

Su 2/13/22

Su 2/13/22 810am. 1245pm. 5pm (a pinch). 730pm.  Up 640am: Cloudy with temps barely out of the 20's. Snow showers around noon, but no accumulation.  Watched 'THE EXORCIST' (Netflix). An undisputed film classic and the costumes and authentic set designs make it a wonderful time capsule from the America of 1973. I had forgotten the crude and frightening medical tests that were given to Regan before the exorcism. This especially scary section of the film certainly shows that hospital testing equipment and procedures have come a long way in fifty years; with Ellen Burstyn, Max von Sydow, Linda Blair, Lee J. Cobb, and Jason Miller. Won 2 Oscars- 16 wins & 17 nominations total.  Then I finished episode 20 of season 2 of 'NEWTON'S CRADLE' (Netflix) that I began last night and then 16 mins. into the next episode.  12pm: PC is 'Off' and will do the Weekly Cleaning and then to Planet Fitness for the workout.  105pm: To Planet Fitness. 45" Cross.  45"...

Sa 2/12/22

Sa 2/12/22 815am. 1110am (a pinch). 545pm (3 hits/bong). 825pm.  Up 630am: Partly cloudy with temps barely into the 20's. I was going to watch 'THE PROFESSOR AND THE MADMAN' (Netflix), but due to a  Metascore of- 27 and I switched to 'BIGBUG' (Netflix). The film is practically a cartoon and a real feast for the eyes-  great sets, costume design, and catchy 'robotics'. In 2045 French robots and other forms of AI stage a revolt after they've already seriously undermined the value of human beings. A random group of family and friends are 'locked-down' and try to outwit their android devices. Directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (AMELIE, DELICATESSEN). More of 'NARCOS- Mexico' (Netflix).  Shut it down at 39 mins. episode 10 of season 2 to prepare for a walk on the treadmill. 1235pm:  FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and more of TULSI GABBARD on J.R.E.  Read 'STAR CHILD' on the couch and listened to DEPECHE MODE. 450pm: TWO MILES AT 4.O...

Fr 2/11/22

Fr 2/11/22 830am. 1125am (a pinch). 550pm (2 hits/bong). 740pm.  Up 630am: Rain early ending late morning and becoming partly cloudy with temps to mid 40's. ***The downstairs PC ran all night and it was ready for a restart this morning. I have the living room PC on 'pause updates' during the film. It looks like this was a big update yet I cannot remember a single update that has made a significant positive difference to me- ever! Why do they still run these system-hogging programs and why do I seem to be the only one that is bothered?  Wrote up 'THE WHITE ALBUM' by Joan Didion for the blog.  ***Paid the Springfield Clinic; $40 Visa. Requested a paper copy for the reimbursement.   Watched 'THE BOOK OF ELI' (Netflix). After a worldwide apocalypse the bible has been banned. One evil town leader looks for a copy of the bible so that he can use the words and concepts to establish an empire with himself as supreme leader. Carnegie (Gary Oldman) states that the b...

Th 2/10/22- Dentist 1pm.

Th 2/10/22- Dentist 1pm. 805am.  315pm (a pinch). 555pm (a pinch). 8pm.  Up 7am: Partly sunny with temps to mid 30's and rain beginning late tonight and to continue through Friday morning.  An early start to the film so that I can get in some miles on the treadmill before a visit to the dentist for 'deep cleaning' on the left side of my mouth. Watched 'THE ALPINES' (Amazon Prime). Seven college friends meet to reconnect after they've been apart for a long time. Soon they learn that their meeting at this remote setting is about something very deadly. One of the friends has attempted suicide and wants to take a few more with him as he makes his dramatic exit from this mortal coil. Basic corny nonsense, compelling, yet people who are suicidal are much less likely to harm others. Right? Shot in Wolcott, Vermont.  1020am: PC is 'Off' to get an early session on the treadmill before the dentist. 1030am: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 (increase) PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and more...

We 2/9/22

We 2/9/22 840am. 1235pm (a pinch). 530pm (a pinch). 740pm.  Up 645am: Mostly sunny with temps to about 40. Westview is a crunchy and slushy mess. Wrote up 'WE CAN BUILD YOU' Philip K. Dick for the blog.  During the middle of the film I tried to register at Maribis on Lindbergh. What is a 'government ID'? What a dumb website and I couldn't find a proper inventory of what is contained on the site. On the PC and phone you could only browse through the entire store, but it would work on the Chromebook. Why? (Later when I visited the store I learned that 'government ID' means you take a photo of your driver's license, or any other form of accepted ID, and upload it to Maribis. No fucking thanks.  Watched 'EX MACHINA' (Hoopla). It's beautifully shot and has an intellectual and engaging plot. I had seen this when it first came out and well worth a second look; Domhnall Gleeson (son of Brendan Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, Sonoya Mizuno, and Oscar Isaac....

Tu 2/8/22

Tu 2/8/22 830am. 1150am (a pinch). 545pm (2 hits/bong). 8pm.   Up 745am: Mostly sunny, breezy with temps to mid 40's. Watched Netflix disc 'OLD' (The blizzard only delayed my Netflix delivery by one day. During perfect weather it's fairly normal to take an extra day). WHAT WAS REALLY GOING ON: "Nature made that beach for a reason. We were meant to test medicines in one day instead of a lifetime. Let's do what Nature wanted us to do"; with Gael Garcia Bernal, Vicky Krieps, Rufus Sewell, Abbey Lee, Alex Wolff, and Francesca Eastwood (daughter of Clint). Shot in the Dominican Republic during hurricane season at Playa El Valle, Samana, Dominican Republic. The director's unabashed nepotism was unbelievable. In the Bonus Features you learn that his daughter acted as a co-director and his other daughter wrote and performed a song. A very entertaining film if you didn't think about it too deeply.  ***Called Epperson and made an appointment for Wed. March 1...

Mo 2/7/22

Mo 2/7/22 830am. 1150am (2 hits/bong). 8pm.  Up 650am: Mostly sunny with temps to mid 20's. Watched 'THE TENDER BAR' (Amazon Prime). A memoir about the early years of a young man from a poor and dysfunctional family on Long Island who went on to  graduate Yale and become a writer. His biological father was 'only a voice on the radio' (he was a disc jockey) because he had left his mother a long time ago and then his Uncle Charlie became the 'real' father .."Lawyers, talk a lot of shit and believe anything" (This quote works just as well or even better when applied to politicians)...  "The lower-upper-middle class are the worst and you never see the real rich, they are invisible"...'The Male Sciences'- ex. "You remain independent so that someone might want you and if they don't, then ya get the fuck out of there"...with Ben Affleck, Tye Sheridan, Lily Rabe, and Christopher Lloyd. Su 2/6/22

Su 2/6/22 825am. 1111am (2 hits/bong). 1pm (a pinch).  520pm (2 hits/bong).  Up 650am: Partly sunny with temps to mid 30's. Watched 'THIS IS NOT A MOVIE' (Kanopy). A profile of Robert Fisk, English war correspondent for British news. He claimed that he was biased toward the ones who suffer and the 'little guy' in general. The aim of journalism is to report the truth regardless of what this means to the establishment. He seemed like a highly intelligent and decent person who was very highly organized. He kept all of his 'paper copy' of all stories that he covered. This included photographs, pictures, and whatever else was determined while he was in the story. After the film I learned on Wikipedia that Fisk died of a stroke in 2020 and he was 74.  I sent an email to Kanopy about problems on the site. I hope they tell me something that I can use and not 'clear the cache'.  Began 'THE TINDER SWINDLER' (Netflix).  1220pm: Shut it down at 57"...

Sa 2/5/22

Sa 2/5/22 825am. 1050am (a pinch). 315pm (a pinch). 605pm (2 hits/1 hitter).  820pm.   Up 630am: Bright and sunny, but high temps barely out of the teens. Agonizing about joining Criterion because you have to give credit card information before beginning the fourteen day free trial. Watched 'PRIME TIME' (Netflix). A young man takes hostages and demands airtime at a television studio in Poland on December 31st, 1999. You never get to hear his demands (he burns the notes of his speech), but the real message of the film is the violent and irrational response by the authorities. 'DOG DAY AFTERNOON' meets 'THE BREAKFAST CLUB'. I liked the film.  2 wins and 2 nominations; directed by Jakub Piatek. Watched the last episode of 'ARCHIVE 81' (Netflix). A disappointing series that had the potential to have been as creepy and diabolical as 'ROSEMARY'S BABY', but not even in the same ballpark.   1225pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the...

Fr 2/4/22 830am. 1215pm (2 bong hits). 545pm (1 hit/2 hitter). 8pm.  Up 630am: Cloudy to sunny with high temps only in the upper teens. ***At 7am. a plow went up and down Westview Drive and this has been the most plowing I've ever seen on Westview. Watched 'A HERO' (Amazon Prime). A poor Iranian man is in jail because of his debts and while on a short leave from prison he finds a handbag with seventeen gold coins. Instead of using the coins to pay off his debt and gain his freedom, he decides to return the purse, however the woman he gives it to is a thief. His act of 'attempted' kindness ruins his reputation and he goes back to prison. The film is deliberately ambiguous and the theme is more complicated than just "No good deed goes unpunished." 11 wins and 31 nominations and directed by Asghar Farhadi. 12pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk on the treadmill. Tired today. 1215pm: FIVE MILES AT 3.9 PACE AND 0.50 SLANT and watched an episode of  ...

Th 2/3/22- 73 Today! and more snow

Th 2/3/22- 73 Today! 845am. 5pm (1 hit/1 hitter). 755pm. 955pm (1 hit pipe). Up 640am: Snow to continue through this afternoon with about another inch of accumulation and temps only to about 20 degrees through Saturday. I would guess that the total snowfall for this two day event on Westview Drive would be about ten or eleven inches. Watched 'THE OPERATIVE' (Netflix). This got lukewarm reviews (47- Metascore at IMDB), but I liked it. It's an espionage/procedural about how a woman was vetted and recruited to work as an agent for Israeli intelligence. She falls in love with her patsy while working undercover in Tehran in spite of strong feelings for her handler in the Mossad; with Diane Kruger and Martin Freeman. From RogerEbert.com:" Diane Kruger is as inscrutable to us as she is to her fellow Mossad agents and the asset she seduces in The Operative, a solidly crafted if forgettable espionage thriller." ***$18: (Happy Birthday!) We 2/2/22- Super Snow Storm!

We 2/2/22 805am. 1110am (a pinch). 505pm (2 hits/1 hitter). 750pm.  Up 6am: We got about 3" by 6am. and it's supposed to ease up  late this afternoon, but heavy snow through the night until Thursday afternoon. The total could be over a foot and a half. Very cold with temps only in the upper teens. (Update: Thursday, 730am.- We got about 2 inches last night and a couple of more expected today. The warnings end at 6pm. today. I think that the two day total should be around a foot). Watched 'AMANDLA' (Netflix).  A lackluster film about a 'good' brother and a 'bad brother' who grew up in a poor black township in South Africa. Their parents were murdered because three white thugs learned that one of the boys had kissed a white girl. Years later this traumatic incident comes back to haunt the boys. Ho-hum.  Watched 'JASPER MALL' (Amazon Prime). A profile of a failing shopping mall through the eyes of their maintenance/security guy and the woman who i...

Mo 1/31/22- 1-hitter arrives from Amazon

Mo 1/31/22 815am. 1055am (a pinch). 1pm. 745pm.  Up 630am: Partly sunny with temps to lower 40's. Heavy snow is predicted for late Tuesday through Thursday. Watched 'EDGE OF DARKNESS' (Kanopy). A dull drama about a Boston detective whose daughter is a nuclear engineer at a government facility that is illegally making atomic weapons. When she attempts to expose the operation she is murdered (shotgunned to death on their front porch)  and her father goes into full-on revenge mode. Robert De Niro was offered the lead role but bailed after a few days and that makes more sense than the movie; with Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, and Danny Huston. Watched 'MY BROOKLYN' (Kanopy).
