Mo 1/30/23

Mo 1/30/23 720am (B). 1055am (2-B). 255pm (2-B). 445pm (2-B). 715pm (2-B).  Up 610am: Last night we got a light dusting of snow that warranted a 'winter advisory' till 9am. Very cold and breezy with temps only to the upper teens.  Watched 'THE KINGS OF THE WORLD' (Netflix). A young man inherits a tract of land from his dead grandmother and he and a few friends set off through rural Columbia to stake his claim. Many years ago owners were 'displaced' by mining interests and the government is compensating the families who were forced to vacate the area. But bureaucratic intransigence & ineptitude prevent the boy from realizing his dream. The boys started in Apartado, Columbia (just east and north of the border with Panama) and traveled to Nechi, Columbia (approx. 215 miles east). "When ya ain't got nothing, ya got nothing to lose". Wrote a short Chat and sent to Casa Loma, Panama City 1030am: PC is 'Off' and the plan was to hit the treadm...

Su 1/29/23 750am (2-B). 1030am (2-B). 215pm (2-B). 440pm (2-B). 705pm (2-B).  Up 605am: Overcast, breezy with temps to about 30. Did the Weekly Cleaning Watched ' TOP FIVE' (Kanopy). A Black comic is world renowned for his 'funny stuff' and he vows to be more serious in the future because 'he has more to offer' than just jokes and laughs. He allows a female journalist to follow him around the streets of NYC while he hypes his new film where he stars as the leader of a slave revolt in 18th century Haiti. But his upcoming wedding to a reality TV star makes his new direction seem false; with Chris Rock, Rosario Dawson, Kevin Hart, J.B. Smoove, Cedric the Entertainer, Tracy Morgan, Tom Papa, and a collection of comics and rappers that escaped me.  (Written and directed by Chris Rock). I loved it! Title Explained: Various characters give their picks for the 'Top Five Rappers of All Time'.  Began 'BLACK CROWS' (Netflix). It's 'Arab Agitprop...

Sa 1/28/23

Sa 1/28/23 720am (2-B). 10am (2-B). 1135am (2-B). 145pm (2-B). 440pm (2-B). 645pm (2-B).  Up 550am: Mostly cloudy with temps to about 50. ***Janny and Joe are leaving at 6am for their Panama City Vacation. Bonnie and Jennifer will meet them at the motel; Casa Loma.  Watched Netflix disc AFTER THE WEDDING. A woman runs a small orphanage in India and travels to NYC to request a donation from a very rich female executive. The hook is that when she arrives she's invited to the daughter's wedding and she realizes that she knows her benefactor's husband. It gets a little melodramatic, but well worth a look; with Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Billy Crudup, Abby Quinn (She wrote and performed the acoustic song at the ending credits).   Finished 'MOTHERING SUNDAY' (Netflix Disc). A young maid working on an estate in post WWI England has sex with her boyfriend on the afternoon he announces his engagement to another woman. He dies in an auto accident before he sees his fi...

Fr 1/27/23- Treadmill Repair: Cancelled 830am- arrived 345pm

Fr 1/27/23- Treadmill Repair: Cancelled 830am- arrived 345pm 650am (2-B). 1025am (B). 440pm (2-B). 655pm (2-B).  Up 525am: Cloudy, windy and temps to lower 40's. ***At 725am I got a text from the treadmill repairman saying that he had to cancel because he was 'called in for his other job'. He will call back to set up another time. Watched 'BLOOD WILL TELL' (Netflix). It's a murky and melodramatic Murder Mystery set in Argentina. A man does nothing as his wife is strangled by a commercial cake mixer and later his daughter does nothing as he suffers a fatal wound while burying the body of his wife's lover. A strange presentation, but it worked. Since I don't have a treadmill, it's back to daily visits to the local health clubs. Today the plan is to do the weights and then hit Esporta. On the way home I'll stop at Schnucks for onions, cat food, cat litter, and cottage cheese. (I bought another 32 pack of 'Fish Favorites')  940am: PC is ...

Th 1/26/23

Th 1/26/23 655am (2-B). 10am (1-B). 1215pm (2-B). 435pm (2-B). 7pm (2-B).  Up 530am: Overcast &  breezy with temps to mid 20's. Watched 'GLASS ONION: A Knives Out Mystery (Netflix). An eccentric billionaire invites several of his friends to a weekend on his private island. It's supposed to be a few days of 'murder mystery theater', but soon the fantasy game becomes real. The film is only mildly entertaining and is more of a spoof on the Agatha Christie style of mystery writing. This is where a writer presents a myriad of potential suspects and then the reader (or viewer) is challenged to determine 'who-dunnit'. I hate this kind of writing. Fun Scene: The billionaire sends each of his guests a large wooden box which must be opened and deciphered before the owner can obtain their invitation. The box is illustrated with a 'stereogram' pattern that reveals a hidden three dimensional picture that is a clue to solving the puzzle.  I have 'stereogr...

We 1/25/23

We 1/25/23 735am (B). 1015am (1-SB). 1120am (2-B). 440pm (1-B). 7pm (2-B). Up 530am: 1 to 3 inches of snow expected and then overcast with temps in the lower 30's. (It only amounted to about an inch and too warm to stick on the roads) Put the 'Colonoscopy Notes' on the hard drive and made a folder in my email. Watched 'CITIES OF LAST THINGS' (Netflix). I had seen this one before but only (very) slightly remembered it. The film is presented in three interconnected sections that are not in chronological order. A middle aged cop confronts his wife and kills her and then kills himself. The film goes back to sections of his life when he was a much younger man and ends when he met his real mother on a swing set as a toddler. It's an arresting tale and shimmers like the best of Film Noir and a little confusion can be forgiven. Directed by Taiwanese filmmaker, Ho Wi-ding. Began 'WOMAN OF THE DEAD' (Netflix).  An Austrian funeral parlor owner loses her husband i...

Tu 1/24/23- Colonoscopy Day

Tu 1/24/23- Colonoscopy Day 145pm (2B-). 445pm (2-B). 655pm (2-B).  Up 4am and the alarm worked perfectly. 440am: Began drinking the laxative and reading 'MIRACLE CURE' by HARLAN COBEN- a small research clinic finds a cure for the HIV virus, but a mysterious conspiracy tries to suppress their findings through murder & intimidation. (Actually, it was a conspiracy to conceal the fact that they did NOT find a cure) Finished the entire jug at 635am and I'm anxious that the colon will not be clear enough. 730am: ONE MILE AT 4.0 PACE & ZERO SLANT;  more of JOEY DIAZ on J.R.E. 830am: Joe & Janny arrived to pick me up. Joe was taking the truck for a new battery and Janny waited in the lounge. 845am: I was in a 'booth' and watching 'The V' until they came in for the procedure at 915am. As soon as they administered the drug I was out like a light. When I woke up it seemed like just a few minutes, but it was 1130am. We drove home and visited until 1pm. The...

Mo 1/23/23- Day 3

Mo 1/23/23- Day 3 750am (2-B). 250pm (2-B).  Up 520am: Partly sunny, breezy with temps to the upper 30's. I sent an email to Janny about the time of tomorrow's procedure and a reminder that only one person is allowed in the waiting room.  Watched 'KNOCKED UP' (Amazon Prime). The movie is hysterical, but it's absurd to portray a random 'hook-up' between two strangers that would result in them becoming caring parents. And, the film makes a point that Seth Rogan's character only has $900 to his name, yet the characters are 'living large' in one of the most expensive cities on Earth. 'KNOCKED UP' is a storybook romance conceived on mushrooms...and maybe that's the point; with Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl, Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann (wife of Judd Apatow), Jason Segel, Jay Baruchel, and Jonah Hill. Directed by Judd Apatow.  8 wins & 26 nominations; '85 Metascore'. Janny wrote me an email that she'll be here tomorrow at 845am and...

Su 1/22/23- Day 2

Su 1/22/23- Day 2 820am (2-B). 1210pm (2-B). 425pm (2-B). 7pm (2-B).  Up 520am: Very light fluffy snow was beginning to fall when I awoke and ended about 9am (only a light dusting and completely gone by 10am) and it remained cloudy with temps to mid 30's.  ***Before I did the Weekly Cleaning I noticed that the PC was 'On'. Apparently the 'app' was not closed when I logged out yesterday. It must have something to do with the 'Notepad' feature.  ***My tooth problem has gotten much better but this is something that I will tell the dentist on my next visit. I will put off replacing the front cap if necessary.   I briefly read through the instructions for the procedure on Tuesday and my experiences in 2020. Fun Fact: Back then I didn't smoke weed or eat rice.  Watched 'CLOSER' (Netflix). The premise seems to be that lies and betrayal are the basis for the most romantic of relationships. A chance encounter with a sexy stranger causes a London obituary...

Sa 1/21/23- Day One

Sa 1/21/23- Day One 725am (B). 12pm (2-B). 440pm (2-B). 710pm (2-B).  Up 550am: Last night I read until almost 1030pm and finished 'DETOUR' by Cheryl Crane. Great read and a cut above the usual 'Hollywood Celebrity' bio treatments. Partly sunny with temps to the upper 30's.  ***I think I'm getting a tooth problem; upper left side. I thought that I had just brushed too hard, but I think it's becoming a little more than that. The colonoscopy is 'the' big deal and Rule #1 is that there should be only one fun at a time. Watched Netflix disc 'X'. (I heard Joe List raving about this movie and he was right on the money) A very classy Slasher Flick that checks all the boxes yet never seems trite or hackneyed. It concerns an amateur film crew who tries to crack the movie business with a raunchy porn film that attempts to  celebrate the aspirations of fine cinema. They travel to a rundown farm in rural Texas to shoot the film and meet the very old and ...

Fr 1/20/23- Belt Slip Treadmill!

Fr 1/20/23- Belt Slip Treadmill! 715am (B). 1050am (1-B). 255pm (2-B). 435pm (1-B). 645pm (2-B).  Up 550am: Mostly cloudy, breezy with temps to low 30's. Watched 'NOISE' (Netflix). An elderly woman tries to get the police to find out what happened to her daughter who went missing. She learns that the problem of 'the missing' is endemic to contemporary Mexican society. Since the beginning of the 'Drug War' Mexican authorities say that the number of 'missing persons' is over 90,000. This is very much an 'art film' and it's well done and creates an effective tone of dread and hopelessness. Fun Fact: Julieta Egurrola (the lead actress in the movie) is the mother of director and writer of the movie; Natalia Beristáin. Watched 'WELCOME TO KUTSHER'S: The Last Catskills Resort' (Amazon Prime). A profile of the longest running Borscht Belt resort hotel in the Catskill Mountains of New York State (12 miles from the site of Woodstock, 19...

Th 1/19/23

Th 1/19/23 710am (B). 1025am (2-B). 210pm (2-B). 440pm (2-B). 715pm (2-B).  Up 530am: Cloudy and overcast with a little 'mist & wintry mix ' beginning early this afternoon with temps to the upper 30's. I wrote up 'A KISS BEFORE DYING' by Ira Levin for the blog.  Watched 'HOW I BECAME A GANGSTER' (Netflix). For the past forty years Poland's economy has been controlled by various mobster syndicates and then a more or less 'decent' man attempts to establish a crew, ignore the law, make his fortune, yet retain his morality. The film is slick and violent, but I doubt that this is a true picture of almost any aspect of Poland's organized crime. Filmed in and around Warsaw, Poland.  Watched the last episode of 'VICTIM NUMBER 8' (Netflix). The series ends with the innocent 'terrorist' and his girlfriend in jail and the journalist (with a new kidney) has a phone message that 'proves' that the terrorist attack was just a plo...

We 1/18/23

We 1/18/23 715am (B). 1030am (2-B). 435pm (2-B). 7pm (2-B).  Up 550am: Rain beginning later this morning and to continue through this evening with temps to upper 30's. ***First time to use 'Notepad' for the journal. Watched 'KILL YOUR FRIENDS' (Peacock).  A scathing satire about a British 'A&R' (Artist/ Repertoire) guy at the fictional UNIGRAM RECORDS during the late 90's. It's a savage and cutthroat kind of business and the only concern is Profit and where Ambition is usually mistaken for Talent. It's an excellent concept for a film yet I can understand the lack of decent reviews. However, I found some of it was hilariously funny; with Nicholas Hoult, James Corden (LATE, LATE NIGHT), Georgia King, and Craig Roberts.  '45 Metascore'.  Watched 'FRANCES HA' (Netflix). Set in contemporary NYC, a young woman of twenty-seven is stuck in a rocky transition from late adolescence to adulthood. And even at the end of the film, she'...

Tu 1/17/23

Tu 1/17/23 710am (B). 1040am (2-B). 1225pm (2-B). 440pm (2-B). 705pm (2-B).  Up 515am: Partly cloudy with temps to mid 40's. ***Spent a skull-busting session trying to create files and folders on Windows 10. It was somewhat successful....(7pm)-  'New Text Document' is the name of the folder that shows how to create a document. I noticed that it's on the downstairs hard drive. See if it's upstairs on that PC as well. Watched 'ARGENTINA, 1985' (Amazon Prime). Argentina had been ruled by military juntas and dictatorships since the 1930's and the film is about how in 1985 a civilian court was finally able to prosecute members of the military who employed mass torture and the 'disappearance of persons' to suppress all opposition. The scene in which a woman testifies about how she gave birth while being tortured by a military death squad was particularly harrowing. The film has the kind of emotional courtroom drama as, for example, 'To Kill A Moc...

Mo 1/16/23

Mo 1/16/23 710am (B). 1205pm (2-B). 250pm (2-B). 705pm (2-B).  Up 525am: Light rain until late morning, then warmer and cloudy with temps to mid 50's.  ***I repaid the card(s) because I don't think I paid enough last week.  I put the cordless earbuds on charge and I'll see how these work this afternoon. 1115am: They were fully charged, but I couldn't get them to connect to the phone.  ***I uninstalled the Amazon Music web player because it got hung up. Reinstall or just listen via the website? Watched 'SANKOFA' (Netflix). The film is about the exportation of slaves from Africa and how they continued their traditions in their new homeland (It's not clear what country, just that they are in the Western Hemisphere).  However, they are not complacent or enamored by the cruel ways and practices of their new 'owners'. The storyline was a bit hard to follow, but the premise is pretty obvious. "Sankofa" is an Akan word that means that we must go b...

Su 1/15/23

Su 1/15/23 745am (B). 445pm (2-B). 710pm (B).  Up 530am: Partly sunny, breezy with temps to mid 50's. Did the 'Weekly Cleaning' (& wet mopped kitchen/ living room) and tripped a breaker in the kitchen when I was vacuuming the living room. I looked in the electrical box downstairs (There is a note on the inside of the box: inside- 'On';  middle- 'Tripped';  outside- 'Off') and I noticed that one of the switches was in the 'middle' position. I moved it to the correct position and the problem was solved. I thought for sure that an electrician was in my future.  Watched 'THE PALE BLUE EYE' (Netflix). An army investigator is called to West Point to solve the murder of a cadet and he teams up with Edgar Allan Poe who also happens to be a cadet at the institution. The murdered boy was hung and then his heart was surgically removed. Storyline #1:  The doctor at the academy has a daughter with epilepsy and she, her mother, and brother are...

Sa 1/14/23- $132 County Market/ Fairhills

Sa 1/14/23- $132 County Market/ Fairhills 7am (2-B). 820am (2-B). 1045am (2-B). 1215pm (2-B). 435pm (2-B). 720pm (2-B).  Up 545am: Partly sunny with temps to mid 30's. Had a half cup of instant and read 'AS I LAY DYING' before Fairhills. 705am: To County Market- $132 and all put away by 810am. Watched Netflix disc 'WILD MOUNTAIN THYME'.  It's more than a little bit corny but not without a sliver of charm. Anything with Christopher Walken as an Irish patriarch is worth a look and in this film he plays an elderly gentleman who doesn't want his son to inherit the family farm because the boy won't get married. The film is based on a stage play and shot in County Mayo, Ireland; with Emily Blunt, Jamie Doran (THE SIEGE OF JADOTVILLE), Jon Hamm, and Christopher Walken. Watched the first episode of  'JAGUAR' (Netflix series). It's 1962 in Madrid and a band of anti-Nazi partisans track high ranking party members as they flee to South America to avoid...

Fr 1/13/23

Fr 1/13/23 715am (B). 1055am (2-B). 435pm (2-B). 720pm (2-B).  Up 545am: Partly sunny with temps to low 30's. We got about a half inch of snow that stuck mostly on the roads. I had planned to do the grocery shopping early this morning, but I didn't want to get the Elantra dirty.  Watched 'BARDO: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truth' (Netflix). {Bardo-  a state of existence between death and rebirth, varying in length according to a person's conduct in life and manner of, or age at, death}.  In broad strokes the film is a lush and luxurious Mexican Art Film about a famous documentarian's inability to be a citizen of Mexico yet live in the United States. Neither place really offers a real sense of 'home' , but he feels a strong kinship to both. Excellent passive aggressive dialogue and visual images that defy description; 4 wins & 20 nominations. Directed by Alejandro G. Inarritu- '53' Metascore at IMDB. 1040am: PC is 'Off' and the pl...

Th 1/12/23

Th 1/12/23 710am (B). 955am (2-B). 1245pm (2-B). 450pm (2-B). 720pm (B).  *** Jeff Beck died yesterday of cerebral meningitis.  Up 540am: A misty, rainy morning and then cloudy and breezy with temps on to about 40. Watched 'THE SIEGE OF JADOTVILLE' (Netflix).  A fairly accurate portrayal of what happened in 1961 when the province of Kantanga tried to separate from The Republic of The Congo over valuable mining rights and the United Nations intervened. A platoon of Irish soldiers fighting for the UN are left in the lurch for the  'greater good'. It appeared that I had seen this one before, but my memory is blank; with Mark Strong, Jamie Dornan ('FIFTY SHADES OF GRAY').   Watched 'TORN HEARTS' (Amazon Prime). Two ambitious female singer/ songwriters visit the isolated mansion of a reclusive 'Queen of Country Music'. Mayhem ensues and it's too corny to be more than nonsense. A Blumhouse Production.  1225pm: PC is 'Off' and preparing for...

We 1/11/23

We 1/11/23 655am (B). 915am (2-B). 1220pm (2-B). 3pm (2-B). 430pm (2-B).  640pm (B).  Up 520am: Partly cloudy with temps to mid 50's. ***Messing with the Windows Updates. Last night it went without incident on the downstairs PC. Watched 'ATHENA' (Netflix). The film drops you immediately into a riot at a housing project in the suburbs of Paris and it is unrelenting chaos and madness. Police have killed an innocent thirteen year old boy and the residents violently unite against the authorities. 73 Metascore; 3 wins & 7 nominations. A little more of 'TRAITORS' (Netflix), then 'MR. UNTOUCHABLE' (Amazon Prime).  Harlem drug kingpin, Nicky Barnes is profiled. When they murdered his girlfriend he ratted out his entire crew. He says he triumphed because they are all doing heavy time and he's free in witness protection. So much for honor among criminals.  ***Called State Farm & paid the car insurance and then paid the card. 1130am: PC is 'Off' an...

Tu 1/10/23 7am (B). 950am (2-B). 1215pm (2-B). 440pm (2-B). 7pm (B).  Up 540am: Partly sunny with temps to the upper 40's. ***Buddy Update: He didn't eat his breakfast right off the bat and he seems very lethargic. I noticed a 'clear vomit' in the bathroom that looked like it was from last night. He seemed fine the rest of the day. I watched the Netflix disc 'PARALLEL MOTHERS'. Babies switched at birth and their moms became lovers and ten villagers were murdered by Fascists and verified 80 years later. Only Pedro Almodovar could pull this together- colorful, melodramatic, and spellbinding; with Penelope Cruz and Melena Smit.  Finished Season #1 of 'BERLIN BABYLON' (Netflix). The visuals are dreamlike, yet authentic and it is one of the most realistic films of pre-Hitlerian Germany, but the storyline is complicated with two many subplots and diversions. There's no resolution at the end of season #1 and I'll get back to it...maybe. 1130am: The pl...

Mo 1/9/23

Mo 1/9/23 730am (B). 1145am (2-B). 445pm (2-B). 720pm (B).  Up 510am: Partly sunny with temps to mid 40's.  ***Buddy seemed reluctant to eat his second bowl of Friskies this morning. He didn't seem sick, just uninterested and that's worth noting these days. By 730am he was back to his ravenous self.  Making notes for  'The Wrap' Watched 'FORGOTTEN' (Netflix). (I checked YouTube's 'Endings Explained')  A young Korean man's brother is kidnapped from the family's new home and when he returns nineteen days later, he is not the same. Soon he realizes that both his older brother and his whole family are not what they seem. It's a complicated plot, but the young man has been hypnotized by the police. They were convinced that he had murdered a woman and her teenage daughter many years before. He did do the murders, but he was hired to kill the man's wife so that the husband could collect on the insurance.  This was a fascinating film and ...

Sa 1/8/23

Sa 1/8/23 725am (B). 1030am (2-B). 455pm (2-B). 710pm (B).  Up 530am: We got about an inch and a half of wet snow last night. The streets, lawns, and trees are all covered. Today will be cloudy with temps in the upper 30's. ***Did the Weekly Cleaning and the first time for the new vacuum. The highest praise- It Sucks Bigtime! I was all set to watch 'BARDO : False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths' (Netflix) and then I checked the mail and noticed that I had received the Netflix disc 'THE 355'. 'THE 355'-  A big budget, international Spy/ Thriller that's top heavy with female talent, but no new ground is broken. All intelligence agencies on the planet are after a gadget that can hack into any computer system on earth- encrypted or open. Whoever controls this device has unlimited power over everything and 'the ladies' join forces to save the world as we know it. Everyone associated with this film is betting that this one is the first of a franchis...

Sa 1/7/23

Sa 1/7/23 710am (B). 1040am (2-B). 1205pm (2-B). 435pm (2-B). 710pm (B).  Up 540am: Partly sunny with temps to the upper 30's. Watched 'THE RAID 2' (Netflix). A martial arts devotee is talked into becoming part of an undercover police operation. He must go to prison and befriend the son of a local mafia chief to become a member of their organization. His handlers want him to find evidence that this gang has compromised the department. Parts of the most intense fight scenes were hilarious because the mayhem was so over the top- a 'Chop-Socky' masterpiece. 11 wins & 16 nominations. Filmed in Jakarta, Indonesia. More of 'THE TRIAL' (Netflix). I made it 20 minutes into episode #5 and this might be curtains for this series. The show boasts beautiful yet confusing set design (somewhere between opulent and tacky) but the storyline is just too bizarre for a courtroom drama....even in Northern Italy.  1120am: Preparing for an afternoon at E...

Fr 1/6/23- The Brandenburgs at 1pm

Fr 1/6/23- The Brandenburgs at 1pm.  655am (B). 940am (2-B). 1235pm (1-B). 445pm (2-B). 655pm (B).  Up 525am: Partly cloudy with temps to about 40. Today's plan is to walk 6 miles on the treadmill before I head out to Red Oak Lane. Watched 'A COP MOVIE' (Netflix). A Mexican Art House Film about a couple who met as cadets at the police academy and later become partners on the job (and later move in together). The film introduces them and later you realize that they are actors playing a role, and then in the last part of the film the real couple replace the actors. The film's theme is that 'Corruption is Rampant'. It costs an officer at least $20 a day just to 'rent' his equipment. The bulletproof vest, ammunition,  and revolver are all available 'for a fee' and this is collected at the start of each shift. Nothing is free. And, if you are injured during the work day it might take hours for an ambulance to arrive. The two officers seem to believe ...

Up 5am: Today I did the five miles before The Morning Movie.  545am: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT; watched a complete 'TUESDAYS WITH STORIES' and began MARK NORMAND on RICK GLASSMAN'S podcast. Watched 'BY THE GUN' (Amazon Prime). A sincere attempt to make the 'South Boston Mobster Genre' a little more realistic, a nice try, but it misses more than it hits ; with Ben Batnes, Leighton Meester, Toby Jones, Harvey Keitel, and Paul Ben-Victor (THE WIRE).  Shot Pawtucket and Providence, Rhode Island. And gave 'THE TRIAL' (Netflix) another chance. The only thing holding my interest is that the courtroom drama is taking place in a Northern Italian court. If it was the American judicial system it wouldn't be half as compelling. S...

We 1/4/23

We 1/4/23 805am (B). 1050am (2-B). 1230pm (1-B). 440pm (2-B). 710pm (B).  Upper 30's, breezy and cloudy. Up 615am: Buddy seems absolutely back to normal. No 'clear liquid' vomiting this morning and  his appetite is back to ravenous.  ***I assembled the new vacuum before taking the Big Blue Can to the curb. This model seems better made than the old sweeper and the cord is much longer.   I called the vet at 8am and they'll call back. They charge $109 for cremation. That's made me a little less anxious now that I know Brewer will handle that part of it. But, at least for today, he's on a rebound. Then I watched the last two and a half episodes of 'EQUINOX' (Netflix). An intriguing series and I'm glad I stuck with it..... Hey! 'The Powers of Darkness' finally won one!  Astrid and her sister reunite in a hazy netherworld and they (possibly) become 'The Brides of Ostara'. Since the demon has gotten what he wanted, the 21 missing students a...

Tu 1/3/23 850am (B). 1220pm (2-B). 445pm (2-B). 705pm (2-B).  Up 7am: I don't know why I slept this long, but so be it.  However, Buddy was sick sometime during the night and he threw up breakfast #1. He hasn't touched either the Friskies or the dry food by 830am, but he seems OK, just very reserved. 845am: He ate a little and then threw it up and now he's resting on his seat on the computer table in the study. 1110am: I finally got him to eat more of the Friskies and we'll see if he keeps it down, it will be the first time this morning. He threw up again at 1145am so I called the vet. She said to remove his food and water. I should try to feed him around 230pm and see if he keeps it down. I'll call at 3pm to tell her how it went.  I wrote a note to Janny that I would not be going to the 'Hillbilly Riviera' with them later this month. I told them that we can get together on Friday. I think I'll stop by the weed store on their end of town and buy some edi...
