The film presents a contemporary motorcycle  gang or 'Kingdom' in opposition to the police or 'Romans'. A knight bets another chevalier that he can seduce his lover, but he employs duplicity to win the bet. This deceptive act brings about war and later resolution between the Romans and the Kingdoms. A surprisingly bland film about the life of Louie Zamperini who was a superb distance runner and competed with Jesse Owens at the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin. During World War II he was shot down during a bombing mission in the Pacific and spent 47 days in a life raft without food or water. He was captured and held in a Japanese prison camp where he was brutally tortured yet lived to tell the tale. It seemed just a little too rosy of a biographical prisoner of war drama. He becomes a respected waiter in a ritzy hotel in Nazi held Frankfort.
