A powerful film about the FBI's involvement in the murder of three civil rights workers in Mississippi during the racial strife of the early 1960's. The same 'Christian White Nationalists' ideas are probably stronger and more popular today than they were sixty years ago; with Gene Hackman, Willem Dafoe, Frances McDormand, Brad Dourif, R. Lee Ermey, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Michael Rooker (confused him with Holt McCallany of MINDHUNTERS). And then more of 'DAHMER' (Netflix). Mom has hated dad since the early days of their marriage and then sixteen years later, mom goes missing. SHOCKING REVELATION: Dad was having a sexual affair with the boy next door who just happened to be his daughter's boyfriend.  For years Dad hid the body in the basement freezer and when his crime was finally discovered he hung himself in jail. I didn't realize that there were five seasons and the first three discs I've completed only end season 1. Season 2 is now in the queue. The protagonist's name is 'Offred' meaning 'of Fred'. "Blessed be the meek" and the rest of the biblical quote is conveniently omitted.  Watched more of 'DAHMER' (Netflix). And then I had problems with the Windows Screen Saver. It activated at 2 minutes even while the disc player was engaged. When I tried to 'turn off screensaver' Windows directed me (via Bing!) to the internet, but wouldn't turn off. Comedians play themselves (kind of) in this film about the night that the biblical Apocalypse occurs. Before I started the Morning Movie I ordered clothes from Amazon; Long sleeve tees, underwear briefs, white ankle socks, and a new feather duster. It took fifteen minutes and I would have spent at least an hour or more just trying to find 'medium' in Walmart.  ***The new bong has the same drawback as the old one. The bowl absolutely requires a screen and the design makes it next to impossible to use one. The experience is less than I thought it would be and maybe I should have tried one of the medium sized 'round-bottomed' bongs. ***UPDATE: Tin foil wrap bowl and aerated with push pin. It's very difficult to make a movie about extraordinary intellectual capability because you run the risk of mythologizing the subject.  Someone who is self-absorbed, demanding, unrelenting and never admits a mistake is a lot of what comprises a visionary. And if they are hypnotic and overwhelmingly successful, most people only want to focus on the myth of greatness and forget all the downsides of that reality. It's a feast for the eyes and the story is compelling yet complicated; Matt Dillon, James Caan, Natascha McElhone, Gerard Depardieu, and Stellan Skarsgard. A subplot concerns the man's best friend who is a high ranking figure in the British government who appears to be losing his mind. A brilliant adaptation of the novel by Graham Greene, however Greene's novel is set in the 1930's and the film takes place during the 'Mod vs. Rockers' clashes in Brighton during the early 1960's. Pinkie is a small-time hoodlum who becomes involved with an innocent girl who could testify to his involvement in two murders. A fantastic ending! In the final 'battle between Good & Evil' Pinkie is disfigured by acid spilled on his face and then he falls off a cliff.  Rose, his 'girlfriend/ wife', never learns that he was only using her all along. I hope he keeps it down! He did not. It's not really gambling because all they are doing is selling 'picks' and what you do with them is your own business. Far from great, but still worth a look; with Matthew McConaughey, Al Pacino, Rene Russo, Jeremy Piven, and Armand Assante. 945am: Preparing for a walk downtown to the county building. I don't even feel close to 100% but I hope it makes me feel better.  1015am: To downtown; Out Edwards and back.
