Tu 8/30/22- Buddy to vet/ County Market: $77.

Tu 8/30/22 720am (B). 915am (2- B). 12pm (B). 405pm (2- B).450pm (2- gr/wh). 745pm (B). Up 6am: Bright and sunny with temps to just over 80. Yesterday evening's storms looked like it could really get bad, but the worst of it missed us. I did find a pretty big branch under the tree in the front yard but the rain gauge only showed a quarter of an inch.   I dropped Buddy off at Brewer right at 730am. It might take until late this afternoon...or not. I guess it depends on what they find. He seemed very upbeat and chipper this morning and I hope he's in the pink.  I drove over to County Market/ Fairhills and they were resurfacing the parking lot. It's really going to be a mess when people start coming in to shop.  I was home and the groceries were put away by 815am; $77 (didn't buy beer).  Watched 'OFF AND RUNNING' (Amazon Prime- leaves 9/1). Shoestring production, yet very compelling. A profile of a Avery, young black girl who was adopted by a white/Jewish les...

Mo 8/29/22

Mo 8/29/22 HIGH SUPPLY: (Sativa) Shortbread Popcorn 755am (B). 1030am (1- gr/wh). 1205pm (B). 430pm (2- gr/wh) Last of the Indica. 645pm (B).  Up 545am: Humid and partly sunny with rain and thunderstorms beginning late this afternoon with temps to upper 80's.  ***I walked to Walgreens to mail back the disc; 720am-740am. When I opened the box for more weed I thought that the weed I bought a couple of weeks ago was gone. One of the 1/8ths was in a jar and one was in a tinfoil package and this accounted for the confusion. And then, when I opened the plastic jar of Shortbread Popcorn I had to use a hammer to shatter the top. Why do they have to make the cannabis containers more sinister than 'child-proof'.  Watched 'WASHINGTON SQUARE' (Hoopla- borrowed Saturday). Set in upper class NYC during the late 19th century a young woman falls for a young man who might only care about her fortune, but her father nixes any chance of marriage. Heartbreak and trauma follow. An exce...

Su 8/28/22- Buddy Sick!

Su 8/28/22- Buddy Sick! 8am (B). 1015am (2- gr/wh). 4pm (2- B). 730pm (2- B).  Up 645am: Partly sunny with a chance of rain early this afternoon and temps to upper 80's. A heavy downpour around 4pm added about two inches to the rain gauge. ***Buddy got sick about 830am and then again about 1010 am. I guess I fed him too soon after the first incident.  I fed him a small amount before the first walk on the treadmill and when I came upstairs I noticed that he had thrown it up again.  Between 3pm-4pm Buddy kept down a couple of small servings. When I got on the treadmill for the second time he sprawled on the downstairs runner for the entire session and he seemed very lethargic- so unlike Buddy. When I lifted Buddy on to the counter to put the medicine in his ear for the second dose of the day, he threw up clear liquid. We're downstairs and he's resting behind the TV.  Watched 'INTO THE BLUE' (Amazon Prime). A young couple in love own an old boat and with the help of a ...

Sa 8/27/22

Sa 8/27/22 725am (B). 1005am (1- gr/wh). 345pm (2- B). 440pm (2- gr/wh). 645pm (B).  Up 530am: Partly cloudy with temps to mid 80's. Wrote up 'UNDER THE BANNER OF HEAVEN' and 'NIGHTMARE ALLEY' for the blog and then borrowed two titles from Hoopla- 'WASHINGTON SQUARE' and 'THE WIPERS TIMES'. This is part of the August 'Bonus Borrow' and these titles do not deplete your credits. Watched 'THE WIPERS TIMES' (Hoopla). The film is about a satirical newsletter published by a company of soldiers fighting on the frontlines during WWI near the city of Ypres, Belgium. The name of the town is pronounced 'Eee-prah' and the English nickname was 'Wipers'.  The film is shot on a shoestring yet witty and very clever and based on real events. Filmed in Northern Ireland.  Watched 'HOW TO CHANGE YOUR MIND- MDMA' (50") (Netflix). MDMA was invented in 1912 by Merck as an anticoagulant but it wasn't successful and sat on a ...

Fr 8/26/22- Bella Milano: 6pm/Mowed Lawn

Fr 8/26/22- Bella Milano: 6pm 705am (B).  1010am (1- B). 850pm (B).  Up 530am: Partly cloudy with temps to low 80's. Watched Netflix disc 'WORDS ON BATHROOM WALLS'. A high school student learns that he is schizophrenic and battles it with 'Love' & 'Will Power'. I didn't buy the premise for a minute, but it was kind of a compelling story; with Charlie Plummer, Andy Garcia, Taylor Russell, Beth Grant, Molly Parker, and Walton Goggins. Filmed in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. The plan is to do 5 miles on the treadmill and then do the lawn. At 930am still too wet to mow so I'll get the walk in first.  950am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for the treadmill. 1015am: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT, finished LOUIS C.K & JOE LIST on J.R.E and began MARK ZUCKERBERG on J.R.E. Finished 'NIGHTMARE ALLEY' by William Lindsay Gresham and began 'A Short Dance In The Sun' by George Benet. 4pm-445pm: Mowed the lawn...

Th 8/25/22

Th 8/25/22 745am (B). 1030am (1- B). 1135pm (B). 440pm (1- gr/wh). 745pm (B).  Up 545am: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain late this afternoon and temps to mid 80's. I noticed that light rain was falling when I came upstairs about 830pm Thursday night. Janny sent an email last night that Joe has a cold and I suggested that they put off the 'gift giving' till next week. I would have liked to tell her that I'd be seeing them Friday evening at the restaurant, but I didn't want to negate the 'secret' (if it is a secret?).  Watched 'THE NICE GUYS' (Netflix). A reviewer called the film 'Candy Noir' and that about sums it up. The outrageous premise is that in 1977 a porno film was released to demonstrate collusion between Detroit automakers and the US government to slow down the introduction of catalytic converters. And the film is just a wacky search through the underbelly of Los Angeles to locate the young actress who was featured in th...

We 8/24/22 710am (B). 945am (2- B). 1145am (B). 4pm (2- B). 450pm (1- gr/wh). Up 645am: Poison ivy on my knees (?!?) kept me up. One more beautiful summer day with temps just over 80.  Watched 'YOUTH IN REVOLT' (Plex).  A sixteen year old suburban kid doesn't want to die a virgin and attracts the girl of his dreams despite his kooky family situation. A very witty dash of Dada/Surrealism: A 60's muscle car is disassembled in the driveway and then reassembled (to everyone's astonishment) in the living room/ dining area of a suburban home; with Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday, Zach Galifianakis, Steve Buscemi, Fred Willard, Ray Liotta, Ari Graynor, Rooney Mara, M. Emmet Walsh, and Mary Kay Place. Filmed in Frankfort, Ann Arbor, and Ferndale, Michigan- and some in Louisiana (reshoots). Watched more of 'THE DEFEATED' (Netflix).  1150am: To Monroe PO- Out Edwards, back Governor...LESLIE WEST;  J. GEILS BAND...ONE HOUR & 50 MINS.  Reading 'NIGHTMARE ALLEY...

Tu 8/23/22- Agnes Fenner: 245pm 7am (2- B). 955am (B). 1245pm (2- B). Up 6am: Another partly cloudy day with temps just over 80. 7am: FIVE MILES AT 4.0 PACE AND ZERO SLANT watched almost to the end of 'THE UNDECLARED WAR' (Peacock-TV). Hit the workout early because of the weird time for the appointment.  I finished 'THE UNDECLARED WAR' (Peacock-TV) and was very disappointed with the ending. Was World War III avoided? It could have gone either way. Watched some stuff on YouTube about the film, but no help. A computer expert offered her take on the 'code' used during the film, but that was far too complex and really doesn't help resolve the ending. Was there a war? Watched 'COMING FROM INSANITY' (Netflix). The initial subplot was the most interesting-  Children from war torn Togo are sold as 'foster children/slaves'? and 'adopted/bought' by middle class families in Nigeria who use them as servants. The film is about a boy from Togo who...

Mo 8/22/22 725am (B). 1015am (1- B). 1135am (2- B). 410pm (B). 5pm (1- gr/wh). 635pm (2- B).  ***Janny sent me an email that Jan Belzer passed away yesterday. She died of a fast moving cancer and was only in the hospice for a week or so. Although I haven't seen or heard from her in over fifty years, it is still kind of sad. One night in the summer of 1967 I can remember sitting in a car in Jim Peterson's driveway with Richard Quinn and maybe a couple of other friends from Wheeling High School and I said that when I get to college I want to try marijuana and everyone else wanted to have sex. Jan and I were the first to have sex, and marijuana didn't happen until (not very much) later.   Up 650am: Partly sunny with temps to just over 80. Watched 'THE ASSISTANT' (Netflix).  While spending ten years in prison a man's wife and son are murdered. At his release he meets a 'cousin' who is eager to help him exact his revenge and later we learn that the 'assi...

Su 8/21/22 730am (B). 1155am (2- B). 455pm (1- gr/wh). 655pm (2- B). 820pm (1- gr/wh).  Up 610am: Foggy early then partly sunny with temps to about 80. Watched 'ZULU' (Hoopla). A somewhat factual account of  the Battle of Rorke's Drift, South Africa in January of 1879. A compelling slice of entertainment yet the special effects were laughable. I realize it was shot in 1964 but even then they had realistic retractable spear blades; Stanley Baker and Michael Caine. Richard Burton provided the narration. From the battle's page at Wikipedia: "...in the long annals of military history, it is difficult to find anything quite like Rorke's Drift, where a beleaguered force, outnumbered 40 to one, survived and killed 20 men for every defender lost".   Stanley Baker who played one of the leads in 'ZULU' was in a 1967 film called 'ACCIDENT' and I found that one on Kanopy. I'll see this one later and I also found 'ZULU DAWN' on Peacock (TV)...

Sa 8/20/22 725am (B). 1055am (1- B). 155pm (2- B). 355pm (1- gr/wh). 450pm (1- gr/wh). 655pm (2-B).  Up 530am: Rain through late morning then  partly cloudy and a moderate downpour about 530pm, but temps only to about 80. Watched 'CODE NAME: EMPEROR' (Netflix). The film concerns a Spanish 'fixer' (intelligence officer) who gets information on important people and occasionally sets them up.  He is employed to find dirt on an up and coming congressman and he comes up empty handed, but the 'powers that be' decide that the congressman is 'too clean' and this means he can't be trusted.  He acquires a romantic interest when he uses a Filipino maid to gain entry into a suspect's home for video surveillance and realizes that he's beginning to have tender feelings for the domestic worker;  with Luis Tosar. This could have been so much better but still well worth a look. Fake News is important because it is designed and employed to make one feel that ...

I watched a Netflix disc called 'GEORGETOWN'. (The disc must have arrived late yesterday)  It's an elegant tale of a dapper swindler who marries a ninety year old Georgetown maven and attempts to use her social position for his personal gain. In the end, his lies catch up to him but only after he murders his meal ticket; with Christoph Waltz, Vanessa Redgrave, and Annette Bening. Directed by Christoph Waltz. The film is supposed to be based on actual events but I wonder how close to the truth it actually is.  945am: Shutting the PC down a little early and will take a walk downtown to mail the dental insurance form and the Netflix disc. I've been off the walks for the past few days because of the foot problem.  1030am: Out & back Edwards: ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES;...

Th 8/18/22- New Timex/ Mowed Lawn

Th 8/18/22- New Timex/ Mowed Lawn 705am (B). 940am (1-gr/wh). 1220pm (B). 435pm (2- B). 640pm (B).  Up 530am: Mostly sunny with temps to the low 80's. Watched 'UPGRADE' (Peacock-TV). The review that got me..."Upgrade is a brutish, efficient and well-executed slice of cyberpunk action horror with a silly streak"...A man and his wife are carjacked, his wife is shot dead and he is left a quadriplegic. A brilliant hi-tech billionaire implants a computer chip that allows the 'quad' to become, 'The Six Million Dollar Man' and now he can nail the fiends who killed his wife.  The reveal is that the 'chip' is behind it all because the software program wants to become human; with Logan Marshall-Green.  Filmed at Docklands Studios, Melbourne, Australia. Considering the genre, this is a real 'cut above'.  Then I watched 'INSIDE THE MIND OF A CAT' (Netflix). Lots of cute cats but not much new information. 1045am: PC is 'Off' and...

We 8/17/22- Dentist/ County Market: $105

We 8/17/22 725am (B). 940am (2- B). 2pm (1- hit) dentist lot. 4pm (2- B). 455pm (1- gr/wh). 635pm (2-B). 8pm (1-B).  Up 550am: Partly sunny with temps just over 80. Watched 'SUNDOWN' (Kanopy). A rich family from London vacation in sunny Acapulco, Mexico and receive news that the wife's mother has died. They hastily leave the resort to head home and at the airport the husband says that he's left his passport at the hotel and that they should go on ahead. He hasn't lost his passport and he seems to be intentionally fleeing his old life to start a new one in Mexico. He switches hotels and begins the life of a local. He meets a Mexican woman, renounces his claim to the very lucrative family business, and learns that he has terminal brain cancer.  A film about a man who drifts through life and it's more of a positive 'acceptance' than cowardice. A slow moving Art Film, but brilliantly done; with  Tim Roth and Charlotte Gainsbourg. I loved it. 925am: Shutting...

Check out: Peroneal Tendonitis (side of foot pain) Tu 8/16/22 725am (B). 1155am (B). 420pm (2- gr/wh). 625pm (2- B).  8pm (1-B).  Up 550am: Partly cloudy with temps to about 80. More cool weather. ***Around 7am. I noticed Bob and Carol loading their Volvo with suitcases. The old woman across the street seems to be in charge of their house.  Watched Netflix disc 'A TIME TO KILL'. The movie is over two hours and you turn the disc over and reinsert to watch the last half of the film (Side 1- Side2). This must be an ancient disc because this is a first for me. I wonder how many people watched 'Side 1' and just sent it back.  The film is set in the early 60's in rural Mississippi and concerns a black man who murders two white men after they violently attacked and raped his young daughter . At the end of the movie he is found innocent, but I think they should have found him guilty of murder, but sentenced to time served. How could they say he was innocent when he com...

Watched 'ALBATROSS' (Hoopla).  This Independent film is set in the late fifties and concerns a biracial couple who go to dinner at the wife's parents' affluent suburban home. Her father is a psychiatrist who is treating a male patient with LSD therapy and he's also a closeted gay man and he's having an affair with this young guy.  The whole film is a confused mess and it was so odd that it's a wonder that it made it to the screen. How they got this turkey made would have been a better film. Shot in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario. I gave it four stars on Hoopla just for orneriness.   Wrote The Chat and sent it; 'JACK & JILL', a plug for `LICORICE PIZZA', the new rug '...

Su 8/14/22 705am (B). 1215pm (B). 430pm (gr/wh). 615pm (1- gr/wh). 8pm (1- gr/wh).  Up 545am: Partly sunny with temps to low 80's.  Paid the card. $91 is 'pending' from Xfinity mobile. Watched 'THE IMMIGRANT' (Hoopla). A beautifully crafted film about the plight of two sisters. They are fresh off the boat from Poland arriving at Ellis Island, NY during the winter of 1921. One sister is confined to the hospital with lung disease (TB?) and the other sister is rescued by a man who seems to be a white slaver.  Technically he did introduce her to prostitution, but it seemed to be an expedient way out- for both of them. The guy was sincerely acting in her best interests (as well as his own) because she could make more money being a vaudevillian act rather than sewing for a living. Nobody in the film acted like you would expect in a movie, but more like conflicted and confused human beings; with Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix, and Jeremy Renner. 17 wins ...

Sa 8/13/22 655am (B). 1030am (gr/wh). 1150am (B). 425pm (2- gr/wh). 650pm (B).   Up 530am: Mostly sunny and temps to low 90's. Another beautiful summer day. ***After yesterday's walk my right foot was sore; right side/ a muscle or bone near the center outside edge of the foot. The plan is to bike to Esporta later this afternoon and cut down on the treadmill. Watched 'Licorice Pizza' (Amazon Prime). The film is a love story set in early 70's Los Angeles between a teenage actor/hustler and his slightly older girlfriend and stars Alana Haim (part of the sister/rock group 'HAIM') and Cooper Hoffman (son of Philip Seymour Hoffman). Based on the professional career of American film and television producer, Gary Goetzman.   He was a childhood actor, started a waterbed company and a  pinball arcade. He also is the co-founder of the production company Playtone with actor Tom Hanks. The soundtrack was a deep dive into 70's music by RADIOHEAD guitarist Jonny Green...

Fr 8/12/22 720am (B). 1030am (B). 1pm (2- gr/wh). 330pm (2-B). 635pm (B).  Up 545am: Mostly sunny with temps almost to 80. A perfect summer day.  Watched Netflix disc 'THE FRENCH DISPATCH'. A collection of four short stories from the final issue of 'The French Dispatch', the foreign bureau of the fictional newspaper, the Liberty Kansas Evening Sun. 1) A cycling reporter introduces the town of Ennui-sur Blase, France (the town's name is literally 'boredom on apathetic'. 1)  A madman is elevated to artistic fame. 2) The French Student Movement of 1968. 3) A kidnapping of a child detective; with Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Lea Seydoux, Timothee Chalamet, Jeffrey Wright, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Bob Balaban, Henry Winkler, Elizabeth Moss, Lois Smith, and many other stars in very tiny parts. Directed by Wes Anderson. A gem of a film!  Nominated for 3 BAFTA Awards; 23 wins & 121 nominations. ***Ordered two...

They can dispose.  Learned that the weed I'm smoking ("Bubba Fett") is a 'mild' Indica known for calming and sedating effects; 16% THC. I'll just have to smoke more and remember that my taste leans more toward Sativa. I wonder what a more potent THC Indica would be like?   Watched 'CARTER' (Netflix). The plotline is more dizzying than complicated, but part of it involves a coalition between the North and South Koreans against the CIA. And there are zombies! However, there are some of the best CGI effects that I've ever seen in a movie. The opening 'big scene' involves a few hundred naked men in a spa and they're all armed with knives, hatchets, scimitars, da...

We 8/10/22 710am (B). 1035am (2-B). 1220pm (B). 450pm (2-gr/wh). 725pm (B).  Up 530am: Bright and sunny with temps to just over 80 and low humidity. Watched 'CEZANNE ET MOI' (Plex-TV). The film depicts the lifelong friendship between Emil Zola and Paul Cezanne.  Although childhood friends at school in Aix en Provence, Cezanne came from a rich family and Zola was 'half an orphan'. But Zola became famous first and Cezanne, the painter, remained forever in his shadow. Much of the film is shot in Provence and is a feast for the eyes, but the plot is a bit thin because 'the action' is mostly conversations that move the story along. The film brings to mind the adage that movies should 'show, and not tell'; with Gullaume Canet (Cezanne) and Guillaume Gallienne (Zola).   Began the series 'DELHI CRIME' (Netflix). I thought that this was a 'True Crime' series set in India, but it's a seven hour 'police drama' about the apprehension of...

It's still very humid, but the lack of sizzle is a welcome relief. I began the German series 'HOW TO SELL DRUGS ONLINE (FAST)' (Netflix). Based on the true story of a couple of German teens who got rich selling Ecstasy and MDMA on the internet. It's a visually compelling production and the show is based on the drug dealing career of Maximilian Schmidt, the real German Ecstasy kingpin. The series ran for 3 seasons and there might be another. Watched 'UNCHARTED' (Netflix). This reminded me of something that kids would love to have seen at the local cinema on a Saturday afternoon fifty years ago. A fast-paced Action/Adventure bloated with lots of unbelievable action, stunts, and mayhem. It's basically one big Treasure Hunt and no surprise that it's based on the PlayStation video game by Naughty Dog; with Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, and Tati Gabrielle.  Ordered 'UNDER THE BANNER OF HEAVEN' from Amazon Books: $6. I wrote 'The Chat' and sent it. This week I asked if I could get some input on the hose removal.   ***Buy small bong 1030am: PC is 'Off' and preparing for a walk before it rains later this afternoon.  It's already awfully clam...

When I used the Bose remote I got sound, but only through the TV. It's like listening in black & white. I am so weary of dealing with computer problems... Watched 'THE DEATH OF STALIN' (Kanopy).  An extremely funny satire about the scramble for power among Soviet leaders after the untimely demise of Stalin. A great comedic cast and parts are absolutely hilarious; with Steve Buscemi, Simon Russell Beale, Jeffrey Tambor, Andrea Riseborough, Paddy Considine, and Michael Palin. Nominated for 2 BAFTA Awards; 19 wins & 40 nominations.   10am- 1002am. Trying to find out why the sound bar stopped.  I used the remote to turn on t...

First try and it connected;  'Last handle/ '...is the loneliest...'. A huge relief! Up 545am: Hot & very humid with temps to 90. Heat Index to 105. Watched the Netflix disc 'DRIVEN'.  A comedic take on the downfall of John Delorean, an American auto executive who split from Detroit and set up his own car company. When he ran low on funds he tried to save his company by selling a mountain of cocaine.  Delorean was arrested and charged, but got off because the whole incident was judged to be an FBI scam of entrapment. I understand what they were trying to do with the film, but I think this fantastic story would have worked better as a drama;  Jason Sudeikis, Lee Pace, Judy Greer, and Corey Stoll. The film was shot in Puerto Rico just after Hurricane Maria nearly destroyed the island...

More rain fell on Tuesday than on Wednesday. You could have fooled me.  I borrowed '3 Of A Kind' and 'Me' from Hoopla. Watched '3 Of A Kind' (Hoopla).  An international heroin dealer beats his wife and holds her prisoner in their marriage. She has an affair with her chauffeur and one of her husband's female  assassins. The 'twist' is that the lovers are a 'threesome' and combine their efforts to do the boss in. The film is somewhere between 'soap opera' quality and a student film; with Margot Kidder - In 1996 Margot Kidder was convinced that her ex husband was trying to kill her but it was all in her mind and she was hospitalized for a bipolar condition. In 2018 she committed suicide by a drug a...

We 8/3/22

We 8/3/22 755am (B). 430pm (2- gr-wh). 615pm (B). Up 545am: Hot and hazy with temps to low 90's and rain beginning late this morning and continuing all night. The prediction is for heavy storms and we could be in for a wild ride. According to the rain gauge, just over two inches fell yesterday and fiercer storms are heading this way.  ***Sirens went off at 10am today, but it's Wednesday and it kind of freaked me out. Because of the storms yesterday, it was postponed to today.  Watched 'FISH TANK' (Kanopy). Kitchen Sink Realism about a young girl's sordid and directionless life in the projects of East London. Mom takes a new boyfriend and he takes a liking to the daughter as well. In the end the young girl and her boyfriend leave for Wales, but their lives seem to be just one long 'dead-end street';  with Katie Jarvis, Michael Fassbender, and Kierston Wareing. Katie Jarvis who plays 'Mia' had dropped out of school and was unemployed when she was cast ...

Tu 8/2/22

Tu 8/2/22 710am (B). 1135am (1- gr/wh). 1235pm. Menards parking lot. 510pm (1- gr/wh). 615pm (B).   Up 545am: Partly sunny, humid and temps to just over 90. AC is 'On' from the get go.  Watched 'WILD CARD' (Netflix).  A Las Vegas tough guy helps a female sex worker, gets real lucky, and then almost loses it all when he meets a multimillionaire dork. Lots of intricate hand to hand combat and some pithy dialogue, not much else but still worth a look; with David Stratham, Hope Davis, Stanley Tucci,  Michael Angarano, and Anne Heche. 'WILD CARD' is a remake of 'HEAT' which was a 1986 film starring Burt Reynolds. Both were based on the novel by William Goldman - 'HEAT' and he also wrote the screenplay for this and 'ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN', 'THE PRINCESS BRIDE', 'BUTCH CASSIDY & THE SUNDANCE KID', 'THE STEPFORD WIVES', 'MARATHON MAN', and many others.  I called A-1 Lock and got no satisfaction. The woma...

Mo 8/1/22- Buddy Sick

Mo 8/1/22 715am (B). 1125am (B).350pm (gr/wh). 640pm (B).  Up 545am: A massive thunderstorm rolled through about 6am and rain continued till about 7am. Then, partly cloudy with temps to about 90. ***Buddy was acting strange and he was downstairs when I woke up. He's usually right outside the bedroom door and he didn't eat his '9 Lives', but waited until the 'crunchies' were served. I have to order another gel-pen later this morning.  He threw up at about 8am. even though he had seemed to get his appetite back. An hour later he threw up again. 825am- I gave him some more '9 Lives' and I hope he keeps it down.  Watched 'A TASTE OF HUNGER' (Hoopla). In Copenhagen a career driven restaurant owner does everything in his power to get the coveted 'One Star' from Michelin, even though he risks the loss of his wife and kids. His wife was having an affair with another chef and her seven year old daughter wrote an anonymous note to her father stati...

Su 7/31/22

Su 7/31/22 725am (B). 1015am (1). 1155am (B). 425pm (1). 625pm (B).  Up 530am: Partly sunny with temps to lower 80's. Noticed this on Reddit: "West Virginia legislator tries to end child support because it might encourage women to get abortions". Watched 'THE MARIJUANA CONSPIRACY' (Hoopla). A flawed film about a most intriguing subject. In 1972 the Canadian government commissioned a study on the effects of cannabis use. Twenty women were impounded for 98 days with no contact with the outside world. Ten of the women smoked large and small amounts of marijuana nightly and the other ten remained clean and sober. The results of the study were never made public and probably not even completed. I would have really liked to see the actual findings and it was no surprise that they only began the study with the hope that it would prove the detrimental effects of weed. Watched the first half of 'SOUNDS OF THE WEST- TECHNO, DUB'N'BASS, DUB OUT WEST' (54...
